Please refresh my memory; where did "all world" Nurideen Lindsay end up?

Thanks.

One of the more frustrating periods on these boards when everyone was talking about that kid like he was one-and-done for the NBA.

Hopefuly that will keep some posters grounded going forward.

How much does it have to hurt Nuri to have the man he clashed with, Coach Dunlap, hired as an NBA coach?! Hahahaha

Posters were reacting to an NBA writer who was ranking him in the Top 60 for the NBA Draft. I can recall only 2 posters that saw Nuri plays and it was YEARS earlier.

To be fair how is that any different than micro analyzing a 4 minute highlight video on YouTube?

Back to Nuri it is pretty remarkable he was able to garner that attention from NBA writers and draft guru when he couldnt throw the ball in the ocean from 10 ft away.

And Lavin said it himself that scouts had been following him and that people were in his ear before he even got to campus about going to the pros early.

I hope you're also referring to yourself, as well.

I think the "people in his ear" were the ones who truly gassed him up and made matters worse. I also believe if he displayed point guard skills, then he would've been perfect for us. He didn't particularly have the mindset to be a true facilitator. He has good size, a quick first step and a solid handle.

Oh! He also needs to tighten up on the jumper (although, he did hit a few midrange jumpers). Hopefully, he continues to hone his game and be more wary of the "people in his ear."

@Moose: A four-minute highlight clip? Let's try a 1 1/2 minute clip. :lol:

I think he hit 2 jumpers in his entire time here. I'm not kidding anything. Earlier in the year I went shot for shot. 2 I think.

I think it was 3 or 4. He hit 2 or 3 midrange shots versus Northeastern and he hit one versus Detroit. I recall being somewhat surprised he took and hit the shots.

Why do I remember this? Maybe, it was due to Lindsey barely taking jumpers, along with his brief stay with the Johnnies.

Those writers have everything to gain by being the one that first "discovers" the next big star and next to nobody will remember when they strike out.

There are a ton of coaches that need less than a four minute highlight video to offer or not offer a kid. Obviously you would like more tape on a kid--nothing better than a high school game. I get a bunch of coaches at lower levels that send me tape asking for my opinion on a kid, so at least some value the opinion.

I have no idea how to respond to this.

In fairness, I think a poster pointed out that Nuri posted a nice congratulations on twitter to Coach Dunlap when he was hired. I remember thinking it was a classy move at the time, and perhaps there was more to that story than we knew.

There's almost always more to a story than what we hear (or would like to hear).

There doesn't have to be more to a story. Someone can simply mature. Nuri ripped Dunlap publically in albeit and indirect manner but it was very clear. He came to play for Lavin and not Dunlap and made that known.

I do give him credit in making that statement he made publically after Dunlap was hired.

Its Nuris loss. How you can compare the training he would get w the SJU staff and BE competition to Rider is beyond me.

I realize you are pretty full of yourself but just to help keep you grounded concerning all the coaches seeking your opinion, remember what PT Barnum said.
