Big Weekend

Zach B
Big recruiting weekend for St Johns on tap. South Carolina transfer Sedee Keita official visit underway. Top 50 Nassir Little Sunday. #sjubb
Hope your Avi is prophetic, would love to get a big man under our belt. For a big recruiting weekend , mum seems to be the word. And of course would love to nab Little , but I know it's early and competition will be fierce.

We are St. John's!
Your wish may be granted!
We may nab Little.
Very Little. :p

Clever!

Good to see alums getting more involved. I had hoped this would be the case under Mullin.

Yes and it can become an important recruiting factor - it takes imo a confident and open minded person e.g. Chris Mullin to welcome alums, reach out to HS/AAU/JUCO/Overseas coaches & players
He's doing just that!
Again it's been a mere two years since CM took the reins of a dilapidated program - look where we are - and are headed -
Whether an optimistic or pessimistic poster by nature
Seems we fans should be very pleased!
all the best

And oh kids 15-25 can mature oh so much when they're 35-45 Ish so I sincerely hope Ron Artist has a better grasp of maturity, good example and giving back - that would be a win- win!

General, if 'Im not mistaken were you not one of the happy fans when Lavin was running things. You know his last season they went to the NCAA tournament. Now you say a dilapidated program. ??? Am I missing things?

Lol, the General is an eternal optimist. I think he was posting positive things about the program the day after the Pittsburgh scandal and Abe Keita's book came out.

Not sure where the General stood on the topic. However, when judging the roster, I do think his characterization of the program when Mullin took over is fair.

Well, I guess you are considering Obekpa and Jordan to be valuable pieces. That's debatable.

They were troubled valuable pieces. If either had Owens' dedication and strong family support both would have been remembered differently. :(

More like Obekpa, Jordan, Sampson and Doughtry plus a few others but we'll never know.

Doughty was not eligible that year. I doubt Lavin staying would have changed that fact. Similarly, I don't think Lavin staying would have resulted in Jordan passing classes he never attended.

We would had Sampson and fwiw, I think we would still have landed Lovett and Mussini. Both of those guys were Lavin recruits. No denying the cupboard was left pretty bare.

you may be right, that only works in Carolina. However maybe their would have been a little closer watch on the guy.;
Sammy Barnes Thompkins was also committed, highly recruited out of Arizona.
