Big Recruiting Weekend

Nice article motivating me to keep things in perspective. Feeling good on Sampson.

Nice helpful reference from you as usual P - wow you are so important on this site like - let's say Thoreau wouldn't have survived Walden w/o Emerson!!! You are the force or at least one of them.
Enough flattery. Sincere though.
Thank you

as an aside how the hell do I stay logged in? I click the "remember me" box but whenever I leave or do anything, sneeze even, I must re enter my info etc.

I don't think there is any legit reason for Sampson not to recommit to SJU. He'll start right away, and based on early results, the program has taken a quantum leap forward. All the reasons he chose SJU are still in place sans Lavin (which cannot be dismissed). He can't help but be impressed with Mullin, Matt A. and Slice and the fact that those two assistants bolted top programs to work with Chris at SJU.

Just a crazy hunch, but with Matt A. and Slice already recruiting Diallo, SJU now has important recruiters from 2 of the 4 other schools on his list. Stands to reason that if these top rated assistants chose to leave those schools to come to the bright lights of NYC, then Diallo pays attention to that as a big positive. I think Sampson falls first for SJU, and gut feeling is that all the positive inertia causes Diallo to go this way also. If anyone can convince Diallo that SJU is a better place for him, it would be Slice.

Love the fact that the entire staff met with Alkins too, Mullin wants to keep the best players in the city home and this will be a great start.

From his interview he seems wide open and not in a rush to commit however I thought he favored us ? Guess I was mistaken

Best recruiting pitch in the world: "Not only do I know what it takes to get to the NBA, and we are going to work every single day on that with you, but I know what it takes to stay there. Come here, and I can't guarantee you'll make the NBA, but I will guarantee that you will never work harder in your life to prepare yourself to get there. I'll make that commitment to you. The rest is up to you."

Is this a Mullin quote?

If it was, it is an amazing recruiting statement. If not, Beast should be Mullins writer!

Maybe will surpass louie tough different era blue chip/ NBA aspirations/ one and done

Before Chris we were mainly involved
"None and done" now at least we are involved with one and done recruits. We will get a few. All good. We have become a destination.

Which coaching staff today can offer more than ours?
Perhaps none

Also, how many college coaches were NBA General Managers.? How many have had input into NBA personnel decisions?

With that, he can say the following: " I know EXACTLY what NBA GM's take into account when making draft pick decisions. I know what they look at, who they talk to, what they value most. "

Like I said, you should be Mulin's writer. It couldn't have been said any more eloquently.

Hey Paultz

Any update on the visits? We should have heard by now. Not hearing anything can't be good.

Big snafu! Slice went to Mali by mistake.

Diallo seems very private. I'm more concerned about Sampson's visit which hasn't happened yet (tonight).
