Very exciting to hear him talk about the future. Chris seems like a traditional basketball guy given the era he played in college and how long he has been around the NBA game. Matt is a great complement in that he has a more modern take and a very creative approach to recruiting that has been lacking around here for far too long. When asked about his preference for building and if he'd rather have high school kids or transfers, Matt didn't give the typical answer of high school players as the core that you'd expect. He said he favored a healthy dose of transfers to keep the median age higher and provide experience. He also talked about how proud he was that they were so successful with the transfer game Iowa St. He thought they were the best in the country.
Also great to hear that Matt is an avid Mets fan and that both Mullin and Slice are Mets fans as well. It could be a good relationship for SJU and the Mets so close in proximity.
