Good news: We could end up in or close to the top half of the league
Bad news: We could end up in the bottom three.

The bottom line is that we will basically be in the middle of the pack in a group of 6 or 7 teams separated by a couple of games and a bunch of tiebreakers.

Time to start contemplating BET matchups.

I actually think we are capable of winning 2 of the next 3. Not saying we will, but all three teams are beatable. Notre dame can't use their "burn" offense against us an win. I just don't think it will happen. Our matchup zones also could be a problem for them. Rutgers will be quite tough at the RAC. Pitt is certainly very beatable. Still take it one game at a time. Beat Notre Dame next.

The best news is that we will avoid UConn and SH--both bad matchups for us. It looks like it will be Rutgers, Pitt, or Nova. Those are all winnable games at MSG.

Rutgers can't score. They haven't hit 70 all season against a legit mid-major or higher. They also don't shoot or pass the ball particularly well and don't possess a huge font line. I think that game comes down to the last shot...hopefully 3'Angelo's. Rutgers is unlucky that they face us when Garrett will be at his strongest.

Our matchup zone will be a big problem for them because they have a hard time scoring. Much like DePaul, theyll have to rely on outside shots to get a lot of their points. Any time teams do that, they are taking a lower percentage road to victory.

My worry is who is going to stop Biruta. He ate up syracuse, who actually have some big bodies until rutgers did the typical rutgers thing and went away from the hot hand.

Mo is really going to have to be more aggressive than he was in the DePaul game.

Biruta takes many games off. He's too streaky and thats something Rice has been all over him about.

Unlike past years Notre Dame is only 13th in points scored in Big East Conference (64.1 ppg) but it is the second best defense (59.5 ppg received). And they have the best 3 point FG defense (.261).

Mike Brey is a terrific coach and has really changed course philosophically. If you remember two years ago they were struggling and then Harangody gets hurt late in the year. He changes course and goes to a more half court oriented grind it out style and they rallied late and made the NCAA's.

This year again caught with the injury bug. Loses his best player Abromaitis and then his top recruit, Katenda. And they are rolling again. Again playing games in the 50's and 60's. Unbelievable. HAnded SU their only loss and the game was not that close. My God he has turned Jack Cooley into a player.

I think a certain poster said he was an overrated coach who benefitted from inheriting the team after 1 year of Doherty at ND. Meanwhile it is more then a decade later and he is still winning.

0-3 would not surprise me at all. Two road games and a top-20 team? One win would be great.

does any one have the format bracket for the BET? Is it the top 4 seeds that get double byes?

Just like last year 1-4 get double byes, 6-8 get one bye, 9-16 play Tuesday.

based on the current standings, we can be seeded no worse than 14th and no better than 9th for the BET.....we could end up tied with providence and depaul at the bottom of the league but we win tiebreakers with both.....we could finish with a maximum of 8 wins and 7 teams currently have 9 or more wins and seton hall has 8 wins but would win a tiebreaker with us.....
