Attended the Media Day. What first got my attention were two tables with four-deep media interviewers surrounding them: one for Jay Wright (which is an annual thing) and the other for Mike Anderson, who handled things nicely. We're lucky to have him. ... Had a brief talk with Mike Cragg and brought up the subject of adding new "legacies" to our original honorees -- one of my pet peeves (as I've frequently posted). He told me that instead of adding new legacies, the school is reviewing the idea of de-emphasizing the legacies and taking things honoring our tradition in a different direction. Didn't want to monopolize his time -- he'd been nice enough to speak with me -- so given the circumstances, I didn't ask for details about what that direction would be. But at least I came away knowing -- albeit regretting -- that they'd no longer be such honors for some of our deserving, all-time favorite Redmen. That aside, I left with a very positive perception of him and appreciated the time he spent with me.
Edit: In retrospect I remember him saying that the Hall of Fame would be where former players would be recognized, rather than hanging jerseys.
