Big East Madness & Sadness

Honestly, our history is so riddled with disappointing losses that I tend to flush them and not want to ever revisit them.   One bad loss was in the Nassau Colisseum to Oregon or oregon state in the NCAA's.   The papers called us the gang that couldn't shoot straight.

I believe you are referring to the Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1981. NBC game of the week against #1 Oregon State at Nassau Coliseum. You would have thought we had five Dunn’s out there, brick city.

Yea, that's it.   We were horrible.   Thanks, as always.   You do a great job with facts on here.

Recall that we had a 17-18 minute either scoreless or FG drought. /media/kunena/emoticons/sad.png

Don't remind me, lol.  I was in the 8th grade.  I was at a couple of friends' house that day (brothers and both Georgetown fans, as the Hoyas had came back down from 18 points earlier that day versus Ohio State to advance to the Sweet 16 with "Reggie (Williams) and the Miracles") watching this game.  I could taste the victory for us as it was oh so close.

I remember walking home from their house pissed off and wondering how we (and, particularly the refs) blew that freakin' game.

I remember that game. Outright thievery.  What the hell were the refs looking at.  He was almost in the lane before he released the ball.

I think that game was one of the most embarrassing in the 46 years of attending SJ games.
