Big East Expansion / Sporting News

UNLV plays football. And aside from that, you'd probably need a 15-team league with three divisions to make that work with regard to travel minimization.

Plus if you invite anyone from the West its not them. Its a team in the Northwest.

I thought the conference is called "the Big East"

And the Big 10 has how many teams?

I'm not sure why the new BE needs to be talking about expansion before it plays its' first season?

Butler was a great addition to the league of Catholic BB powers. Butler has Hinkle Field House, a College BB shrine.. Also being in Indiana is a great plus as it helps replace the loss of ND in the Midwest..I think Butler's success over the last 10 years, as a major player in NCAA tourney championship games, adds to the quality of the new BE, not detract from it.

And, I disagree that Butler was only Brad Stevens and his players. They have a quality Program that will transcend just their Coach.

And, don't think so called Athleticism will always trump a 5 man roster that has better fundamentals and strategic Coaching. The Wisconsin game should tell us a lot about our Team this year. Besides there are a lot of excellent BB players in Indiana that don't all go to the Hoosiers.

Would add 2 teams...Uconn is a must.....They have a great following.....and dont depend on whether they have a great coach..would UNLV be interested?

It would be a mortal sin to have these notorious NCCA violators part of the new BE..

UNLV was considered outlaw when Tark was coach...And that was only way to beat Wooden who didn't have clean hands either..The glitter of Vegas vs the Catholic Big East..Dont you believe in redemption? Is the Pope Catholic?.

Please don't get too self righteous. As you recall our beloved St.John's was found to have committed NCAA violations and was placed on probation.

Correct, but giving Abe Keita $300 per month to give to his family does not seem so egregious
not when compared to what Fr. Harrington was doing, don't you think?
