Don't underestimate Mamu.  We've got to defend him aggressively throughout the game.  Tire him out.  Occasionally double-team when he is down low.  Don't jump in to try to block his three-pointers.  Box out.  And don't forget about the other 4 guys out there.

I feel confident going into this game.  The team has showed a lot by coming back from big early defecits in the last two.  Hopefully, they come out strong and keep their foot on the pedal.  They have the talent to win.  As has been said, a lot has to do with how SH shows up.  If SH comes out with a chip on its shoulder, it could be very competetive.  Hope Posh is able to give us a few minutes, but if not, we are still very capable.  Go Johnnies!  Predicting a 10 point win.  We seem to be gelling as a team.  Chemistry is there.

I forget which poster it is, but we need him to say it's over and then the game will be in the bag for us.  /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

Josh disappears in most games for his size his production has been most disappointing  .What to do with him is a problem.
Hate playing them so close after beating them. It imperative that we get of to a fast start!

Need to go into this post-season ready to dominate, not just skate by.  Our mentality has to change and tourney teams, at least ones that should be there, win these games.  Gotta go in there ready and expecting to crush it.  Hope we can get Posh back soon as that would help a ton.

My computer at  home mysteriously will freeze at 2:45 Thursday and work from home becomes my assistant will have to handle rest of day without disturbing me it's 6 pack and St John's time

Mamu is a well rounded player and can beat teams in a lot of ways. I wouldn't count on him to fold. Same with Seton Hall. They have been a tough tournament team recently, and actually match up well with us.  We beat them because we sped them up in the second half. When Hall takes its time when on half court offense, they create matchup problems. If they run the offense through Mamu they are difficult to defend.

Maybe it's no accident the guys start slowly then pick it up in ther second half. That's what 40 minutes of hell is designed to do. Take better offensive teams out of their game. the recent win means nothing. Everybody is 0 and 0 right now, and every team is capable of putting up a huge game.

OK the six pack is breakfast. Are you going to be able to wake up by game time?

Of course. I hardly sleep so breakfast is early so by 3pm I'll ready again :)

If your boss needs any verification that your computer froze, I think you’d get a ton of backing from this site. I’m sure we’d all write a note to him, or her. :)

lol. I did a zoom conference call the other day in camoflogue pajamas and an untucked in dress shirt it's amazing when you tilt the camera higher how noone has a clue

All of a sudden my 90-1 bet on SJU to win the Big East Tournament doesn't look quite as crazy as it did when I placed it a few months ago.

And try to draw charges when he makes one of his out of control spinning moves to the basket

As I said before the prior game, SH experience is an advantage. However, I like our team better. We need to remember DRIVE, DRIVE AND THEN DRIVE SOME MORE.

Forget the 3 until we get comfortable and in rhythm.

Toro should be used in a hack-a-Shaq role with Obiagu

Because you're a Redmen fanatic and you've seen this movie before...but maybe this year isn't a rerun.
it's the start of something new, and big.
Maybe.

Almost all the Yukon fans on their board are predicting a SJU vs UConn final.  I will say that they do have an understanding of basketball mojo and respect SJU under Iron Mike.  They know winners when they seen em better than we do.  I'm gonna steal that mojo and go with it.  They are more attuned to winning than we are...  let's go boyz...

This is a game that, by all accounts, we should win. We have momentum, they don't. We thoroughly outplayed them the last 30 minutes of the game. We are both fighting for our tournament lives. But we've been here before vs Butler and Depaul and fell flat. It feels like so many of these games where we could make our lives a lot easier slip through the cracks. The program is heading in the right direction, hopefully this is the start of not letting games like this get away.
