Every day is a better day to be retired
When asked if I like retirement, I say that it's the best job I ever had

I will simply not believe we will make the semis until I see it.

we will be favored most likely but i just have a bad feeling about this one. I wanna get to Friday night so bad and usually when I really want a win my sports teams don't give it to me.

Go Johnnies

Kenpom gives  St. John's a 46% chance of winning predicting a  77 to 76.Seton Hall victory.

I think St. John's is the better team. I wouldn't have said that at the start of the season but the truth is the gap between Mamu and the next best player on the court has shrunk. Champagnie can score with him and on a good day he's more efficent. And beyond that I just think we're deeper. Anderson has more buttons to push to try to find something that works. Their offense has sucked for over a month now. They've more frequently resembled the team that St. John's dominated for the final 30 minutes than the team that jumped out to 18-0 lead. Their last two games they started strong and then folded when the other team punched back. Our past two games we almost got KO'd in the first 10 minutes and then dominated to win by double digits.

This feels straight forward. I like the way the Johnnies are playing and Seton Hall seems to be imploding. So my question is why am I absolutely terrified?

Truly annoyed that FS doesn't have some kind of streaming deal for overseas.

Playing SH again will be a nail biter for Johnnies fans. I expect the score will be a lot closer. I hope the Johnnies can continue playing like they did during the 2nd half on Saturday. Let's not give SH a 18 point head start this time.

Was just think imagine it we had recruited Watson and he came here instead of Providence just wishful thinking

1.  Anderson needs to give whatever halftime speech he's used in the last 2 games BEFORE the game.

2.  Anderson then needs to give that speech AGAIN at halftime.  There have not been many games this season where the team has played 2 halves of basketball.  The Nova game, maybe at Providence, that's about it.  This would be a good time to fix that.

3.  Mamu is basically Markus Howard, only a foot taller.  He's mentally weak.  When things don't go well, he sulks - he is a guy who plays well when things are rolling and disappears when they aren't going well.  It's important to get him off his game early because once you do that he tends to not recover.  I'd prescribe a heavy dose of Earlington to be physical with him and stay in his face and get him out of his comfort zone.

4.  We will again need minutes out of Toro - even if it is just for 5 fouls he will be needed against Obiagu.

5.  With Posh out (presumably) then Greg becomes the second offensive weapon.  As usual we need a third scorer to step up.  We can only hope that Dunn does not decide that it's him and that instead players like Cole, Moore, Earlington, Wusu hit their shots and make plays.

The outcome of Thursday's game may well hinge on the psyche of the Seton Hall players

If they're still shell shocked about blowing a huge lead to us just a few days ago, they may done before the game even starts.

If they're pissed about blowing that big lead and come out and play with grit and determination, it will be a hotly contested and  exciting game

Either way, looking for the big "W" for the Johnnies!!!

One of the things that contributed to Victories over PC and Seton Hall was our relentless energy . Especially in the second half of both games . Both PC and SH looked gased and weakened noticeably in the last 20 minutes . In fact , by the second half Saturday , SH looked exactly like PC earlier in the week . Couldn't keep up , weak defense , tired shots from deep , less rebounding despite their height .

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As usual, spot on lawman, especially about Mamu, I think that his sulkiness will keep him from doing anything much in the NBA, mental toughness is a must. Earlington's role important to get into Mamu's head.

Agree with you.  I am very impressed by the team continuing to play hard even as they were losing by a wide margin in both games.  I love the no quit in this team.  Hoping we shoot well in the garden as we haven't played there all year.  I think our depth can really help in the BE tourney as long as we can get through Thursday's game and we don't have to play on Wednesday.  Another huge blessing that was earned and not gifted.  Any update on Posh? Anyone?  Having Posh even for a little while would be a shot of adrenaline.

I'm a little concerned about the Johnnies bench. It took significant contributions from everyone to stage the comeback win on Saturday.
Earlington had 6 reb 1 assist and 12 points
Williams 5 reb 5 assist 11 points
Josh 2 reb 1 assist 4 points
Cole 2 reb 1 assist 8 points
I like these players, but they've been inconsistent from game to game. Williams back is still bothering him. Can he handle playing three days in a row? Earlington always tries hard, but his shot isn't consistent.

The team has to be as good or better to beat SH on Thursday. The Johnnies are certainly capable of doing really well in the BET. I think, beating SH could be tougher than the semifinal opponent on Friday.

We have the best bench in the league. That’s the one thing every other team has to worry about more than us.
