(BET) #4 Seton Hall, Thur., Mar. 14. 2:30p, FS-1

So, It only took a year short of a quarter century to get to the Friday Night Big East Semi-Final. I have so much joy and elation about this. I am confident with our win today that we will avoid the play-in game and have a legit shot to win and get to the round of 32.

Going in to the season this year, my definition of a successful season for us was fourfold:

1) Starting off Big East conference play strong (which we did going 4 and 1)
2) Getting to the Big East Tournament Semifinals (which we have now done)
3) Making the tournament (not in the play-in game) which I would say is going to happen now.
4) Advancing to the NCAA tournament round of 32 (which seems very doable) for the first time since 2000.

After the Seton Hall debacle at UBS on February 18th and having lost 8 out of 10, I confess that I had lost hope that we were going anywhere this year.

Now I don't want to get greedy, but exceeding my fourfold expectations for a successful season seems very possible. Starting with beating UConn tomorrow night, we can start to dream about bigger and better things.

Kudos to Coach Pitino and the players for turning this thing around and lets keep our foot on the gas pedal and see what happens!!!!!

Go Johnnies!!!!

Seton Hall debacle at UBS. Boston College debacle was at Barclays

I just finished watching it on delay. I apologize because I’m sure I’m repeating a lot of what everyone has said above. But what a terrific win and what a terrific streak.

The guys seem to have clicked. Great contributions from just about everyone who played. Great from the line FOR ONCE. Great game by our captain (happy to see).

Overall intensity and urgency most of the second half. Heck most of the last 6 games.

Our HOF coach pulled the right strings at the right time. And we’ve peaked at the right time.

Tough assignment tomorrow night but we’ve played them close for 3 halves this year so I’m hopeful for a competitive game.
Ticket punched, so let’s see how much havoc we can sow.

Would have much more credibility if he said it 6 games ago! Talking Heads!
And for the record, I watch all sports with the sound off and follow no sports talk, podcasts, etc. I do read things posted here, similarly on the UConn WBB fan site, do some research when something piques my interest and occasionally friends send me things I check out.
Point being, I know who Fanta is but know nothing about his expertise, credibility, etc. so not knocking him really because maybe he did say something similar then.
