Best Big east newcomers

Nice find. It doesn't mention Williams' eligibility, I'm sure it's somewhere on here, but does anyone know how many years he has?

First off welcome aboard.
Secondly the article goes to show that the real experts think very highly of what our short handed staff have done in 4 weeks on the job. 2 of the top 10 recruits in the Big East. Just excellent on their part.
Remember that Sima is an unknown coming from Spain but some experts have said he is a real steal and That Ron M was injured. Both could turn out to be serious players.

So is Darien Williams the second coming of Orlando Sanchez?

And yet you wonder why people call you a troll...

umm...that was a legit question? From what I have seen, their descriptions are not all that dissimilar.

From what I've read and seen, Williams is a better outside shooter than Sanchez and better defensively.

So is Darien Williams the second coming of Orlando Sanchez?

Let's see what we know. Sanchez scored 10.2 ppg as a soph (8.5 as a frosh) and Williams scored 16.1 as a freshman in a better league.

Sanchez had slow feet and was only an average athlete. Williams is much more explosive. Sanchez was 24 year old soph...Williams was an appropriate aged freshman.

Sanchez shot 1 of 12 from three as a freshman (8%) and just 58% from the FT line. Williams shot 37-90 (41%) and shot 64% from the line.

Apples to oranges.

Also a better rebounder. Sanchez was never committed to rebounding or playing defense.

I think stats are very misleading when comparing basketball players. Numbers don't necessarily tell the truth when looking at basketball players.

I was just looking at the fact that both had good size, were decent athletes, and could supposedly beat the defense either inside or outside.

Funny, you also just described Ladontae Henton and Justin Brownlee, but chose to go with a player that is remembered by most fans as a big bust. Again, no forum rules were broken, but the message is as clear and annoying as ever.

I think better comparison is Walter Berry. Both 6"8" good athletes, one year of JUCO both 64% from the line. I guess its how you look at it.

most players should be able to shoot 70% from the line with practice practice practice It becomes a mental thing Then coach needs to address that aspect to become more efficient

What the hell are you talking about?

I think most people think of Orlando Sanchez when someone describes a bigger guy who can shoot. That's how Dirk Nowitzki got his nickname "The German Orlando Sanchez"
