What?
Ponds was live on Instagram and Keita was with him. He said that he is coming back to St John's. That he'll be back next year and that it's fake news.. saw it live myself or I wouldn't believe it
who hacked his password keita02

As noted, some kids are not cut out for college and high maintenance kids sap staff.
Unfortunately, he seemed to have brought some of his same issues that plagued him at South Carolina. Nevertheless, I wish him the best of luck!
And after you talked him up! :)

So, are Sedee and Figgy the only two players returning?
That’s a joke.
Trying to reverse the vibes.
Still would place good odds he's not back
I wouldn't be surprised either.

Lets say Ponds doesn’t come back and a mass transfer takes place leaving the team short handed. Would this be the time to move on from mullin?

At the very best possibility by eligibility, we lose only Clark. Could easily speculate on that as well if you see the glass half full.

At this point, I think the best thing that could happen to our program would be for Mike Cragg to negotiate a buyout with Mullin and hire a new HC with a new Staff.
That won’t happen.
So, we have to wait and see if anything changes at all with CM and Staff-wise and how we’ll be set up to recruit and coach the kids.
I’ll say Matt leaves, he’s replaced with 1 recruiter, nothing else changes and we ‘fix’ the roster with band-aid remedies.
Book it, Dano.

New AD- Go for it, fix it all, starting with a plan for recruiting and player development.

Like everyone else, I’m disappointed that we didn’t do better. I agree that changes need to be made. However, the season wasn’t a complete failure either! Changes and tweaks need to be made for sure. But I don’t think we need to cut ties with Mullin just yet. He may not be the best X and O’s coach or even a good recruiter. However, I do think he adds value to the program.

So where do changes need to be made? First, move Mitch back to special advisor. Second, replace St. Jean with someone more experienced than him who can recruit as well. Third, do whatever necessary to keep Matt. Last, try to convince Heron and Simon to stay (I’m assuming that Figgy will). Having Heron, Simon and Figgy should give us a good nucleus to build off of. If Mack is as good as what I’m hearing, we might have a better team than this year provided that all 3 starters stay and at least Steere or Manuel can be the big man we desperately need.

When Matt A goes, what exactly is the recruiting plan going forward? Has any of Mitch, Chris, or Greg established any recruiting contacts and inroads? By the time a replacement gets on board we will clearly have missed out on the grad transfer market. Personally I am sick to death of the unsustainable transfer culture roster. What valuable assistant would want to come into this situation to recruit for a coach who will not be extended? And what recruits are going to want to commit to a team where the coach will be gone in a year or two? Hate to say it but disaster is looming.

Pretty much how I see it. Hope we are both very wrong. But I think we're a lot closer to right than wrong.

A couple of questions remains: Would Mullin allow the assistant to coach up the team his own way or Mullin's vision? Lastly, is Mullin going to actively recruit as well?

If there are defections, which are seriously rumored, then what assistant coach--worth his salt--is going to come into a situation where it's basically a dead man walking aka lame duck coach?

Head coach and 3 assistants, are they all not allowed to recruit?

Yep! Four coaches are allowed to be out on the road. You'll usually see around 3 or 4 coaches (with most programs) out during any, given time on the road during the spring and summer recruiting periods. During the season, you'll typically see two or three coaches out at some point recruiting (usually, the head coach is in the equation somewhere).

The stark truth is, imo, that whatever the season was, it did not represent ‘meaningful progress’ and, if the coach were not a legacy, he would very likely be forced out.
It’s obvious Mullin is returning and probably with virtually no changes to the Staff changes except to replace our sole recruiter.
All else will be the same.
Just hoping ‘somebody’ can convince Simon and Heron to stay and other roster departures are not problematic.
Otherwise, we’ll have another losing year.
It’ll be what it’ll be.
Let’s go St. John’s.
