I may attend.....will have to do a bit of a sales job on the wife.

I will defer to CPAVIN , but I believe you can take the amount over fair market price and write it off.

In other words, if you pay $1,000 for you and your spouse, and fair market price for a dinner for two is $100, you can write off $900.

Vin?

You are correct. They usually break it down on the invitation as to what part is tax deductible. I'm sure that they could provide you with the information ahead of time if you ask them.

I can't believe that for what, a million years, I thought your handle was a vague reference to Corey Pavin's win at Shinnecock. Now that its pointed out I just can't help laughing at myself. Too obvious.
I thought the same exact thing and marillac thought his name was c pavin

Yeah, well at least you spelt his handle right.

My handle use to be Vincpa years ago which is easier to recognize. But years ago when the site went through maintenance/changes I lost my handle and couldn't log in so I had to change my name. I should change it. It does look like c pavin and I hate golf.

And, like Sean Connery on Celebrity Jeopardy segment during the Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary special, I also thought "Who Reads" was "Whore Ads"

Be nice if SJU can group a few redmen.com tables.

Thanks for trying to get this thread back on topic.

Will Corey Pavin be attending said event? If so maybe I'll fly in, though that might keep Vin the CPA away apparently.
