Anyone know what he means by a road trip to South Florida?  What a treat it would be to have the Johnnies play down here this year.

I think it means they would play an OOC game in South Florida but I might be wrong.  Could be a preseason golf trip.

Not true.  And trust me CMA knows it.  Also the mass exodus stuff means nothing.  With the portal and de-commitments turnover even on good teams is going to happen now.  It is the way of the world.  Could care less about turnover, care about results.

Creighton and Marquette basically turned over their entire roster in a span of a few weeks and finished higher than SJU and made NCAA's.

IMO as long as we make the NIT and nothing else bad happens(IE another mass exodus, player suspension(s), etc), CMA gets a 5th year. Especially if it looks like Posh and others are returning, and if he has a decent recruiting class coming in. Basically if we show even a slight improvement, CMA is back.

Maybe a tournament down here over Christmas?

It's not whether what I'm say is true or false, it's an opinion. Just like yours is. Anyhow, in an effort to prove that you're right and I'm wrong, you completely missed my point. So never mind, I'll let you keep thinking you're the smartest guy in the room.

Asked about an off season trip for players noting the team bonding and recruiting +s

Cragg response - “Bingo! That was the plan the last two summers ... but something huge got in the way :(. Look for some news coming soon ...and you are right ... huge part of building culture, bonding, teamwork, repetitions, etc. Can't wait to be back to "normal" again ...”
well with the war in Eastern Europe and Covid surging in Western Europe a short trip to Montreal and the natio s capital of Ottawa would be perfect this summer. Especially if they would play McGill.

No I got your point and I understand it is your opinion I am telling you it is not true,  Also the idea that things like roster turn over are conditions of employment is just not the case.  The issue is results at this point.  That is all that matters.  And 4 years in they need to see MUCH better results or a change will be made.  And if those results come from replacing 9 kids or 2 kids that is not important.  Results are what will matter.  That's fine you can choose not to believe it I get it and I respect it.  I just think many are focusing on the wrong things like retention.

A game in Florida (Miami or Florida or Florida State) makes good sense in that a lot of alums have retired down there--a chance for connections/fundraising.

Fordham96,

Solid posts as always. My concern about roster turnover and specific to CMA is that it took him a while to figure out proper rotations and some of the talents specifically Sorioano in the beginning of the season were not ready for the rigors of Big East Play (. Soriano did turn it around 3/4 of the way through and kudos to him.)

But can we trust CMA to bring new players in and have them gel right away and play cohesively ? Will they be mid major guys not ready for the Big East yet? ? That’s why I think the NCAA is a very tall task for next season. Not necessarily because of the portal but based on what CMA did this year with a roster turnover.

But Florida and Florida State is not South Florida.  The only schools I can think of are UM and FAU.

What about FGCU on the west coast ? The women play in their tournament every Christmas.
i am sure there are many Alum and fans from Tampa south to Naples that would love to attend a game with FGCU if it was scheduled. Any many others would use it as a reason for a short trip to the west coast. Let’s see what our AD has planned.

Ah yes Florida Gulf Coast, the program the single handily destroyed Georgetown's program.

Of course RMN will be in South Florida when the Redmen trip to Canada to play McGill takes place.

There is one reason to focus on retention in achieving success goals though, teams with a higher percentage of 20 somethings then those unable to legally drink seem to more frequently exceed expectations.  In the absence of superstar players give me experience over potential every day of the week, and experience playing together?  Even better.  There's no one on this team that could return that I wouldn't hope didn't.  Still feel the team needs a proven scorer with 40%ish 3 pt range to replace some of what Champagnie brought and get over the hump though.

Have an "in" at FGCU and seems it is not them. Imagine if a 1 & 1 and if so would be UMiami. I told him seem like St John's was looking to come down for a game. FGCU, FIU and FAU. I would think the 3 teams, other than UMiami ,would take a HOME game versus the Johnnies but don't have the secrets that AD's use..

Like others mentioned perhaps it’s a neutral game with a team outside of Florida.

Didn't see that other then we played Georgia Tech in Fl.

You’re right might have saw it somewhere else.

Miami would do a home and home with the NYC game at the Garden in December (similar to our game with Pitt). Also, a "homecoming for Molloy HS's Larranaga.
