The Athletic had a great column on how this is such a missed opportunity by college basketball to eventize. Imagine if all these games were against other high majors.
Never knew eventize was a word. The Athletic had a great column on how this is such a missed opportunity by college basketball to eventize. Imagine if all these games were against other high majors.
With that first name he's off to a fast start. After watching Nova-BYU, Duke Brennan is the hands on favorite to be the most annoying player in the Big East.
From the highlights I saw, Karaban was shooting 3s with confidence last night. He's such a well-rounded player otherwise that when he's knocking down 3s with confidence of all their action, they are a different team IMO.My idle thought of the day; Hurley knows his team last year was deficient defending. I don’t think they will improve markedly in that regard and the Johnnies will again have the edge there. Imo, we also have superior physicality and “bully boy” gave then fits last year.
Lastly Malachi will help them at the point, but Demary, although talented, is really a combo guy. If we have PG concerns, so do they imo.
Early conclusion - I think we edge them out for regular BE schedule title.

Very possibly a Julian Champagnie arc if he lands in the right spot at the next level. A guy who can't carry a team but is a really good player when placed with other really good players.Good college player
Just had same thought, great minds ………Very possibly a Julian Champagnie arc if he lands in the right spot at the next level. A guy who can't carry a team but is a really good player when placed with other really good players.
Sorry but I have to strongly disagree here. I feel this is discounting Champagnie’s athleticism which Karaban severely lacks(as far as NBA standards go). Slow footed, can’t jump, he’d get targeted and eaten up defensively in NBA gameplay imo.Just had same thought, great minds ………![]()
Mcandrew and Freeman hard hedging 30 feet from the hoop. Looks bad vs South Dakota, not sure how it will look against some BE guards. Freeman is obviously not the rim protector kalk is but I bet they end up going back to drop coverage. Offense looks like they will still score enough. To say Creighton looks unimpressive is an understatement
They just look so slow. South Dakota is a bad team and really unathletic. Without Kalkbrenner being a safety blanket down low, I just think it's going to catch up to them. I know Freeman is recovering from an injury, so maybe not fair to judge him yet. But he plays so below the basket.Mcandrew and Freeman hard hedging 30 feet from the hoop. Would be shocked if by mid-January they aren't not an offensive scoring machine. Defense TBD losing a 3 time DPOY who was as good defensively as any big at the college level over the past few years. They just look so slow. South Dakota is a bad team and really unathletic. I fully stand by saying Ashworth was overrated by people on here last year, and played a role he wasn't supposed to, but he also really bailed them out on lost possessions last year by hoisting up crazy shots. Obviously one game, but is Dix supposed to be that guy?
