There's no need for drastic measures if there's still some semblance of an ACC after Virginia and UNC go to the Big 10 and Clemson and FSU (and maybe VaTech and/or N.C. St.) go to the SEC.I don’t see Wake dropping football.
But if the rest of the teams panic and try to join the Big 12, then some schools are going to be faced with hard choices. Would a school like Wake join a much lesser conference just for football? Do they want to be independent in football? They don't currently operate football at the monstrous deficit levels as a lot of other schools, but what happens to that relatively minuscule deficit if they need to play in a non-name brand conference?
