April Live Period
Exciting times. Can't wait until we have a full working staff for the first time in years.
What's a full working staff?
That hasn't been in our vocabulary
It will be very refreshing to see!!!

My post was a bit tongue in cheek obviously. If you remember Roy William's came to NJ to watch Precious same day as he played and OT game at home against Miami. And I was told by some it was less about effort and more about access to a private plane. Which was just so absurd.

Remember the staff didn't show up at event in Connecticut MLK weekend after Butler game. What you need to have a private plane to Connecticut?

Also remember Chris did not go on the road for either live weekend last April, there were 2. In fact staff skipped first weekend altogether and only GSJ and Luca went on 2nd one. I believe those weekends coincided with Matt having his kid which explained why he wasn't travelling.

They didn't want to work, period. The private plane excuse was a complete embarrassment to use.

CMA coached 17yrs, and never had a losing season, that's on the line, so you know he's gonna work like a madman with recruiting. The man doesn't want that to snap.
These kids will see SJU everywhere, and be like: "yo wtf, SJU used to never be seen. They must have a new staff."

We do, and not saying this year or even next year, but eventually I want to challenge Villanova every year for the B.E. crown, not just every once in a while.
I want SJU to be boss.

This is fabulous, to see Iron Mike and TJC fully into it.
I hadn't realized that the JUCO events began y'day in both Atlanta and Dallas.
I canvassed the rosters of both JUCO events.
Some guys that TJC/CMA were recruiting when at Arkansas, like Javion Hamlet, Javon Franklin, Shawn Stith, Sean WIlliam-Moore, do not seem to be participating in these events. Which is curious but whatever.
Andre Allen, #10 JUCO, & a rebound-eater is in Dallas today, as are two other honorable mention JUCOs, Jawaun Daniels SF,and Sita Conteh, PF.
Three honorable mentions:CJ Roberts, a Frosh JUCO, dynamo CG scoring machine, 17ppg in 4.7mpg, and Khayl Waters, SF, and Jalin WImberly, G/F, are participating in the Atlanta Event.
Exciting times in Johnny-Land.

A lot of favorable things being said about Anderson by lots of the sports media, coaches and the like. Refreshing to see this stuff.

Maybe it signifies 'complete guard' because the guy can score, bama. 17ppg in 4.7 mpg, 65% from 2, 41% from 3, 81% FT%, 3.5 apg, 2.4 stl/g, 1.2 a/to. Lol.
He was signed by Missouri out of HS in '17, transferred mid-year to Tx Tech, never played there either, suspended/kicked off team for not attending classes is the buzz, played this past season at Broward.
I combed through the rosters of both JUCO events for guys ranked in Top 100/hon. mention.
This guy's stats, and the #s for Andre Allen, and Jalin Wimbley seemed to stand out.
We shall see.

Without a doubt it was a poor excuse. But with that said, having access to a private jet does make it easier to be all over the place.

You're using the private plane quote totally out or context. It was used to say we're always going to have a disadvantage to schools who have resources like that and much more. Which is fact.

I know someone said it as a joke regarding Repole letting staff use his private jet (assume he has one), but being that he's given millions would he really lend it to them for recruiting? May not be as crazy as you'd think.

Thanks for clarifying this, and your post makes perfect sense if you have access to a private plane, the lead times to fight thru traffic, security, boarding times, and unscheduled delays become compounded. Not to mention that if you are 6'7", even 1st class can be cramped and coach is impossible.

I have a family member who was doing an incredible amount of travel with a crazy schedule of early morning flight to the coast, meeting in SF, fly to LA, meeting in LA same day, then fly to midwest for meeting next day. I think the cost of a private jet was something like $20K per day. Even if you own the plane, there is the cost of the pilot, copilot, and flt attendant, then there is fuel. Even if Repole was inclined to be that generous, then there is the issue of liability insurance as well.

Room 112 is right tho - the schools with unlimited access to money can do the most. If Kentucky wanted to keep Slice, they could have paid him 800K. Year after year the most successful schools in the aggregate are state schools. Isn't it great to know that at least indirectly those place are funded by tax payer dollars?

It will be interesting to see if Anderson encounters any budget restrictions that weren't there for him in either Missouri or Arkansas. Same with Cragg, since Duke is one private institution where money is no object.
