Andrew Svoboda : Former St. John's Golfer

Would be great to see 2 Johnnies on the PGA Tour at the same time
I don't think that it's ever happened before

Andrew Svoboda is a lock for his 2013 PGA Tour. The key is to finish in the top 5 on the Nationwide Tour money list this year as this gets him in a number of early West coast swing events. Keegan played well right off the start in his rookie year and look what happened. Honestly thought Andrew would have been out on tour earlier but he has turned a corner with his game and has a very good chance to stay on PGA Tour for a while !!

I played vs. Andy in high school. Took him a little longer but good to see him finally catch on.

Played well today at Nationwide BMW event with a 3 under par 69. On tv tomorrow starting at 12:30. Should get some tv time.

Andrew Svoboda makes his PGA Tour debut as a fully exempt player next week at The Sony Open in Hawaii, along with STJ's Keegan Bradley. How does a school from the cold and northeast put two alumni on the tour in the past 4 years ? Pretty impressive

Andrew Svoboda just shot a -5 under 67 at first round of PGA Tour's Humana Challenge in Palm Springs.
Congrats to first round under par on the Big tour !!!

Andrew Svoboda has played well in PGA debut but has struggled on greens and has
missed 3 straight cuts. He will be playing the first two stops on the 2013 web.com
Tour staring this week in Panama and the following week in Columbia. Good luck to
Andrew !!

Andrew Svoboda shot -3 under 69 today in first round of Web.com Colombia
event !!!!

Surprised no one mentioned Svoboda made his first cut on the tour last week in New Orleans. Came it T-47. Needs a lot more of those and better if he wants to keep his card.

I'm not exactly sure how the new rules work now that there's no more Q School but I think by playing there and winning he got to keep his tour card for next year as he jumped into the top 25 on the Web.com tour. That's good, although given his results on the tour this year who knows if he's going to want to keep at it. He only made 4 cuts out of 17 starts and was 209 on the Fedex Pts list. I'm sure his $55K in winnings barely paid his travel expenses.

All of the top 25 money winners on the web.com tour automatically qualify for PGA tour cards for next year

Andrew has made about $200,000 this year between two tours, plus makes pretty good money fro endorsements ( Taylor Made clubs, Titleist golf balls, a clothing and hat deal )
He'll be fine and be around for awhile.
