To put it in perspective deGrom didn't get to double a until he was either 25 or close to 25. Granted he had surgery before that but still you can kind of get an idea. Like SJU11 said he has a young arm and is pretty much relearning the game

What is kind of crazy is that Garrett is from Vegas like Bryce Harper and is actually six months older. Harper seems like he's be in the league ten years now.

Don't forget that deGrom was a shortstop at the beginning of his college career and then missed a year + with Tommy John. He has a very young arm for his age as well.

I would hope that they promote to AA next season.

The Florida State League is considered a "High" A league so you can expect Amir to start off in AA next year.

Side note: The dry tortugas are a great day trip from key west by high speed catamaran or seaplane.

Appears that Garrett could become a significant MLB player with a very bright future. Awesome!
 
Playoffs tonight;

Daytona goes to Clearwater (Phillies) for the next two games in the best of three. If they win Daytona is in the championship series (best of 5). Games are played every day to the final. Only possible day off would be if Daytona wins in two games and Jupiter/Charlotte (Cards/Tampa Bay) goes three games. If Daytona wins the first round Amir should have 1 more game.

While I echo your sentiment (I applauded when Joe Panik homered at a game I was at earlier this season), I'd much rather beat Amir 1-0.
 
Now the No. 3 rated prospect in Reds organization after outstanding post season (1.38 ERA).
