ADR transferring

knew this would happen. wish him the best but he jus isn't in shape and I don't think Mullin is going to tolerate anyone being out of shape

ADR seemed immature. Given the new management he probably was not a great fit. I hope he can get himself in shape physically and academically so that he can have a great career. Apparently, it won't be here. I wish him luck.

Shame...kid looked like he had talent...but didnt appear to make any effort to lose weight last year...

If you're 7 feet tall and can play ball, and get a scholarship from the only major bball school in NYC, get your sh.. together. You had a year to do it. It's a shame, kid could've probably been a contributor.

In spite of what many wanted to believe, the kid was simply not a high D1 talent coming out of CTK. Lavin did the kid no favors by bringing him here. I sincerely hope that he has his academics in order and that the kid makes a serious commitment to losing weight and to working on his conditioning, If he does not, he will never suit up for a college team at any level.

@AdamZagoria: Both Joey & Adonis De La Rosa will transfer from St. John's, source tells @SNYtv

If he was eligible last year, he would've had plenty of minutes. Not saying he doesn't belong elsewhere, but that's a fact. Lavin played his less skilled brother, as we all know wasn't too good.

How could something that you're speculating about be a fact? Here's a fact: the numerous times that I saw ADR last year I found him to be in worse shape then the countless times I saw him play at CTK the previous 2 years. Now that's a fact.

There was definitely a quote by him after he committed where he said Lavin doesn't even want him to lose weight, just firm up. If that's true that was thew worst thing any coach could have said to him.

Thanks JDR for playing your heart out. ADR learn from big brother and work your tail off. Plenty of time left in your career to make it great. All the best.

Maybe not a fact, but when Dom is playing center because Obekpa is in foul trouble, I'm thinking ADR would get minutes. And this was a problem all season long, no? Do you think JDR would've been playing at all if ADR was eligible?

IMO JDR gave us far more than ADR would have given us had he been eligible. FWIW we still don't know for certain that ADR wasn't eligible at some point. But I will say this much, I have never seen a kid as slow and as out of shape as ADR be able to play at this level. Simply put, he was in no shape to run up and down the court. Skills sets or not, if you can't get up and down the court you can't play.

Does JDR have any eligibility left? I thought he was done.
If this was the NBA we would be "eating" ADR's contract.
