Not much said here, to be honest, but I appreciate our AD not running and hiding from yesterday's news.

#sjubb I hear all of you guys. Understand, nobody is more frustrated than me and the staff. We live this 24/7. I can feel your disappointment and your passion. It is much appreciated. Hang in there. Also, not sure where the CA renovation rumor came from. Nothing planned yet.

The CA renovation rumor was started up once again when someone posted on this site that JMU was getting a new arena. And that took on a life of its own that we would get a new on campus arena. Keep dreaming. As the AD said nothing planned even in terms of a renovation.

Politically correct statement. Nothing is being planned, but that doesn't mean that things haven't been said that were really not in the works at all.

yeah I never understood why he has so many followers.

It's really a simple trick. He has 1400 followers, but to get them he has followed 4600 people, all followers of SJU players, coaches and administration. I think twitter limits you on following now because of that.

Anton Goff in response to a question re a new on campus arena on Twitter;

"A dream of mine, but probably will not happen. We would have to raise about $250M+. Nobody wants to wait that long. Reno of CA is our best bet." #sjubb

"...probably will not happen." so there is a chance. :D :)

Nice to see Goff interact further w/ fan base later in day with more responses to questions.

Gives some hope...

Just too steep an expense to expect SJu to do anything, but renovate. No big donors in sight to make a new arena happen seems common view. Can't blame anyone if $$ is not there.

There absolutely no reason why the entire arena should not have seat backs and the backcourt ends should have been opened up for free student bench seats adding about 500 seats on either end of the arena. The arena would still be in the 6,000+ capacity range but as you said the $$ are not there but mostly because the product has not been worth selling name rights to any major sponsor. Had this program been an NCAA Tourney team brand every year like Villanova that would not have been a problem. The new Islanders arena 15 minutes down the parkway offers big time arena opportunities for the many Long Island fans and short shuttle buses for students. It would be very similar to the DePaul arrangement in Chicago. You are all welcome to copy and paste this to A.D. I won't even accuse anyone of plagiarism.:p

We can't get students to walk 15 feet across campus to go to the games they are not going to take shuttle buses 15 miles to the games.

#SJUBB What's up? Five quick tweets before I shut it down for the night. Headed to DePal in the morning. I love the opinions/ideas on Carnesecca. Yes, I would love to build a new on campus arena, but do not think that it feasible from the research we have conducted.

#SJUBB You do not have to tell me that CA needs renovating. I am in the building everyday. Not just the arena, but the entire building needs a renovation, including my office, our administrators/coaches offices, and all of our locker rooms, just to name a few areas. (2/5)

#SJUBB I do not want to abandon MSG. It is an important part of our history that I respect. I just want to play the right games in there. It costs a little more to play there now than it did in the '80s, so I have to make sure we are making sound financial decisions (3/5)

#SJUBB I think we can make Carnesecca an intimidating place to play, which would give us a true home court advantage. I want teams to dread playing in Carnesecca because of the beneficial atmosphere it can create for us. (4/5)

#SJUBB Lastly, I just want to thank all of you that have stood by us the entire season. If you haven't or frequently disagree with me, it's all good. No hate from me. But, I do hope at the end of the day you want us to win. Sorry for the 5 tweets, but wanted to answer (5/5)

has anyone asked him if they plan to get air conditioning ?

I see where he's coming from, but playing more games on campus as a money-saving endeavor and not lowering the prices of season tickets is robbery. In fact, I'm sure the prices will go up again.
