ACC ??????

you got loot, but how about booty or bones?

Football at the college level with TV ratings and betting dwarfs college BB money wise; probably didn't so much before TV money came into the picture.

College BB ratings suffer because there are a gazillion games on almost every night except Sunday. With college FB once a week for the big time games, so they get high ratings and all the bettors watch to follow their bones......
Another component is that some of these FB Stadiums seat 80,90, or 100,000 people and many sell out every game . That’s a lot of Moolah , Fabulous or other wise .

Bandaid on a bullet wound.

ACC is done!

They will not be able to pay anywhere near the amounts the B!G and SEC can.

Right now the ACC has no leverage on renegotiating media rights, but if they go to ESPN and say the nuclear option is in the offing and there are sufficient schools to disband the conference so either you work with us or the product ceases to exist what is ESPN going to do? I imagine they'll pony up some more funds and help them develop stronger revenue streams for the ACC network as well. Not saying they will reach B1G or SEC heights but it could keep the conference alive, and if it does the rights issues for individual teams will likely be able to move a couple of the defection group off that line.

ESPN may be fine with that since they have a 10 year contract with the SEC starting next year. Adding Clemson, Florida State would certainly make that a stronger product

Considering ESPN was complicit in the ACC’s raiding of BE teams that lead to the demise of the bigger FBS version of the BE, I think it playing the same role causing ACC teams to leave for other conferences would be fitting.

ACC adjusted their rev share model today. How quickly that got done ………

Didn’t have much of a choice, will placate those clamoring for it for awhile but the real hawks (FSU, Clemson Miami and probably UNC) are still looking for a loop hole and an exit strateg.
