8 man Rotation

What is lavin doing playing 12 guys?
How can any unit develop continuity or familiarity?
If he doesn't make adjustments with his rotation the talent on the team will be irrelevant.
Harrison, Sampson and Jordan should all play 32 minutes or more.
The 8 guys should be:
Harrison
Sampson
Jordan
Sanchez
Obekpa
Pointer
Greene
Variable (b/t branch, hooper and gift)based on foul trouble matchups etc

It's not the rotation, it's the coach.
he's gone.

Impossible to tell who will play well when no one person or unit is is long enough to find a groove. The talent is obvious amongst Harrison, Sampson and Jordan and lavin has to allow the remaining core of Greene, pointer, obekpa, sanchez to get in where they fit in.

Tom, it seems like there are serious problems here, but what is going on that we don't know?

All he has to do is play the fullcourt pressure D for 40 minutes, then he can play as many guys as he wants. Constant subbing would be a function of that, and more justifiable, IMO.

I hear flag boy still has eligibility left , maybe coach will start him next week.

How does Hooper not play 40 mins a game? Does he shoot it too well for this bunch?

Seriously, what a disgraceful performance all around (players and coaches).

Nonsense.
Lavin is not going anywhere.
And the issue at the moment is most certainly the coaching staff's lack of a defined rotation.
There is a reason boeheim every year has an 8 man rotation.

Yeah, there is a reason - it's because Boeheim can coach and Lavin can't

This board is funny.
People in 2010-2011 said the reason for success with the same roster as 2009-2010 was because we "finally got a real coach" and ditched norm.
Now those same people say Lavin can't coach.
Which is it?
Or is the excuse now that the success in 2011 was all Dunlap.
I'm not making apologies for Lavin - but I truly think the most significant issue at the moment is no rotation and no set of players getting game minutes together in bunches -- not an inability to run offensive sets or implement defensive schemes.
If someone wants to insinuate that Lavin is leaving at years end why not explain where you concocted that I'll advised opinion?

If you "truly think the most significant issue at the moment is no rotation and no set of players getting game minutes together in bunches" then who on earth is responsible for that going into the 3 game of Big East play after a summer in Europe? This team has been working out together for FIVE effen months!
This is not the same Lavin from 2010. Staff has been downgraded, illness and loss of father may have all taken a big big toll on Lavin. He is not the same and it shows. He frustrates easily, makes poor player decisions, and just says some crazy ass things! He builds players up for the media and fans and then he forgets they exist. If one or two players leave along with the seniors and not one recruit is signed you do not need tea leaves to assume the end is near. It would be a matter of a buy out with the West Village pad held as ransom by the Lavins. Other reasons for the crazy concocted opinions? Body language ---- both players and coach. Hey, things can change by Saturday night!
Instead of allowing Harrison free reign to shoot (miss) 1-12 he may sit him and play his shooters, he may give Obekpa another look at center instead of Ndays (as in end of days), he may start Rysheed Jordan, he may out coach Jay. Is it probable? Let's see what the wise guys in Vegas think! I will go with that. ;)
