25-26 Season

Need Ian to commit today or tomorrow and a sleeper starting PG to enter the portal. Mitchell would be a nice get too, but not sure how the staff splits time if they can lure Ian and a starting PG. Don't think Mitchell comes here to come off the bench or only play 20 minutes a game. Assume Ian, Zuby, Bryce and the PG to be named later each get 30 (or more) minutes a game. That leaves one spot for Sanon, Sellers and Mitchell and only sparce minutes for Prey and Vince. I mean, as a fan, I'd be fine with it, but not sure how the guys actually on the roster would like it. Oh, and that assumes Ayo and Lefty hardly sniff the court outside of foul trouble or injury.
While you may be right about much of this, I personally would assume nothing. How minutes get distributed may depend on many factors. We may wind up with co-point gurads and they split the 40 minutes. I am hoping you are right and Hopkins plays 30 minutes or more and that he is the player he was before his injury. However, he has only played 17 games during the last two seasons and what his body will allow him to do is speculative at best.

Also players may quantum leap between this season and last and grab more minutes. After his Sophomore year it would have been hard to have predicted that Zuby would be a first team all Big East talent his Junior year. Injuries and other random factors could also play a big part in minutes distribution.

I don't think that Coach Pitino promises precise minutes as part of the recruitment process. I would imagine he pitches the opportunity for each player to maximize their potential and to be part of something special.

The only thing I am sure of is that I will anxiously wait to see how this all unfolds and am filled with hope that we will be worth watching.

WE ARE GhostZapper
ALREADY WORTH WATCHING.
No matter what happens with the young man Ian 😉
Excitement was had 2024-5.
More on the 2025-6 horizon. That we can
“take to the bank”.
We are no longer desperate.
We are rather desirable.
The desirables reside here!
Even Hilarie would concur 😀

Glad we circled back. A lot on here think he may not want to come because they think he may not want to come off the bench but I can see a starting front court of Zuby BHop and Mitchell.

I don’t see Mitchell starting for us. That would mean both Sellers and Sanon would be coming off the bench. Not happening.

Mitchell would be our backup 3/4. There would be time there. Things fell apart last go around because of role, but them rekindling talks says he's probably opened up about the possibility again after other visits.
One thing we did not do well last year was defensively rebound and Dillon the last two years averaged 5 a game. That could help get transition game going and spawn easy buckets. DM runs the court well too, often finishing on breaks.
