25-26 Season

A lot of good quotes to munch on
Thanks for sharing.

His first quote about a new player is how out of shape they currently are lol. Sounds familiar.

Entering year 3 of Rick saying Zuby is going to play some 4. It might finally happen, but I'll believe it when I see it, especially if Hopkins is going to be getting ~30 mins a game.

Also think Sim staying feels very realistic if he's working with him on ball handling + has him as the backup PG/backup SG. Can easily imagine a 18-20mpg (and then some, if there is a leap).

Yeah sounds like if Sellers is near locked up then Sim is the de facto backup PG. That's a bit scary.

Also, not sure how we're supposedly pursuing another big in addition to Rick saying Vince is going to play more. Unless that big is another very minimal minute project type, but we already have Maker for that.

Saw an interview recently from Donovan Mitchell who plays at 225 now...said after he was playing a little slow at 225 lbs in college, Pitino brought him to the conditioning coach and said "get him down to 195." 😆 Mitchell said he got down to a low of 199. Pitino is crazy.

It's scary on paper as of today. We legitimately need the leap to happen to feel better about it. Lefty is some insurance but yeah, not great. I think PG/C are two positions we should always recruit out of HS or Europe so there's internal development + not relying on the portal market for.

Rick also said he was happy Brady left since he wanted to play more. So maybe we'll get someone better than Vince and be happy he leaves. :ROFLMAO:

Unless Watkins comes and he becomes another primary ball handler. Sim can be the secondary in the half court.

But overall, there has been a challenge placed on Sim. Very impressed that he stuck around to compete, and now needs to take advantage of it. Fingers crossed he takes the big step forward.

Yeah, Watkins solves a lot of problems with his ability to essentially play anywhere between 1-4. Though unless he's the "frontcourt player" being referred to by Rick then I'm not sure if he's in the cards.

As always with the good and bad take Ricks quotes with a heavy grain of salt

“Don’t like coaching against my son in the league. I like coaching him at New Mexico, where he comes into the Garden. I don’t like this”

In that same interview, he said he fell off the treadmill twice on purpose just to get some rest because Pitino was running him ragged on the thing.
