2025 Portal

He probably already has a $5 million offer from someone. He's going to a Power 5 conference. It's easy to use that Football NIL for BB because those guys flip schools everyday.
 
Assuming that 8.4 million for next sessions NIL is in the ballpark does any poster have knowledge of what the SJU revenue is for the past season or what it is expected to be for the next season?
SJU must be required to publish that figure.

IMO, he for sure already had solid high end money offers from teams or he would have never left the combine midstream. Miller is probably just trying to get the most money out of the best fit and then we will be hearing of where he is committing. Have to imagine it happens rather soon.

Not sure why we got away from that. I understand having a thread dedicated to SJU Portal targets but once they became a serious target (visiting) I think starting a thread in the recruits section was apropriate. And for non-transfers/prep kid/foreign kids as well.

I agree. The 2025 Recruit Thread is where these two and where the portal targets (especially the ones we where recruiting and the ones that indicated we had made contact with them).

We should also have a 2026 and 2027 recruit thread.

Have requested your last desire for a while. I have posted a lot in the yearly class threads through the years and always willing to do so. Hopefully the request could be accommodated.

While there, I was looking at our top all time recruits in the 247 era. #1 is Sim Wilcher at .9869 and #2 is Rysheed Jordan at .9806

Three recruits this year out of high school would eclipse that.

Dillon Mitchell - .9983
Ian Jackson - .9970
Joson Sanon - .9914

Bryce Hopkins just missed at .9857

I dunno. There was an SJU Portal Targets thread. And there was a 25-26 Season Thread.

I believe the Portal Targets thread was closed when the Portal closed (which makes sense) except for the Boogie Fland thread which stayed live because (depending on your viewpoint) that was still live for St. John's.

I believe the 25-26 Season Thread was closed and the more recent/relevant posts were migrated to the "Get Ready for 25-26" thread, which remains live here:

Nobody is stopping anyone from opening player-specific threads in the recruiting forum, knock yourself out. I suspect that only a subset of posters spend time there (I'm not one of them) and we may end up with some duplication in the Fan Forum, but that's fine.

THIS thread is for the 2025 Portal generally, unconnected to St. John's and it remains live because not all portal players have signed yet, or some guys may fall out of the NBA Draft.

As for why you don't have new forums for 26 recruits or 27 recruits, those are structural items that are beyond the scope of the mods to address at this point in time.

Hope that helps answer a few of the questions I saw on the last page or so of this thread.
 
I think its a great move for Florida but curious what Boogie's draft stock will be next year. He's not going to beat the Bones Hyland comp allegations being a undersized two guard there.

Hyland averaged fewer than 2 assists and had more TOs two years in the A10, how are they making that comparison?

I'm more familiar with Hyland in the NBA than at VCU, but I can see it in terms of his physical stature & not being great at the rim. If he can't actually use a pick to drive to the lane with authority, he is in big trouble in the NBA.

This was the write-up:
"Boogie Fland made an admirable return for the NCAA tournament after missing the last two months. It didn’t go well—he shot a combined 4-of-18 in three games and only played nine minutes against Texas Tech.

He wasn’t convincing enough this year to sell teams on a starting NBA point guard. The size and athleticism questions popped up too much whenever he was driving or trying to finish.

But his ball-handling and shiftiness for creation and playmaking, and his reliable shotmaking, do paint him as an attractive scoring/playmaking spark for NBA teams to think of for instant offense off the bench"
 
If the Gators land Fland, got to wonder how Lee will be feeling. Golden is a snake and a weirdo off the court. U of F covered up his indiscretions as they knew they had a potential Championship on the line. Not the first Florida school to do so, can you say Florida State/Jameis Winston?

Fland will do whatever he wants there. Lee will just have to fit in where he can. This board has overrated Lee quite a bit, but there is room in Golden’s offense for both to get plenty of opportunities.
 
I can’t say I followed much of Princeton’s games but I assume Lee played most of the time with the ball in his hands so I wonder how he will adjust to being off the ball since Fland has to be coming in to be the lead guard.

Golden is a pedophile. Gators don't care about indiscretions.
 
Fland gets a lot of ink because he is local and fans want to see him do well. I think Lee will give him stiff competition and probably surpass him.
 
I am curious as to SJU79 take on how/if Fland affects Lee? Not that Lee would leave Fla but more if this was thing discussed.
