2025 Portal

I think it’s interesting that so much time and energy is wasted on a thread based on an improbable supposition. First of all Boogie is focused on the draft. Second of all, if he doesn’t go when he wants to in the draft, if Cal wants him back, I’m sure he can match and outbid whatever Pitino does so why change. And thirdly, what makes you think Pitino wants Boogie? Did you ever stop to think that part of the deal in getting Jackson to commit (remember it took a while?) was that Coach agreed to play him at point? Pitino went out of his way to make a grand statement as such.
dont think a return to Ark is in the cards as Ark is loaded in the back court. We still need a PG and could theoretically pay him. Even if he came to play point primarily, am sure Pitino will mix it up with him and Ian both playing off each other like DJ and Clayton

Thanks Silly. All terrific points. Agreed.

Boogie Fland is Arkansas' Omar Cook.
Luckily in the NIL era he can make millions just staying in college(s).😉

Cal recruits one-and-doners. He assumes you are one-and-done and recruits accordingly. Fland replacement is already set for next season.

If going back to Arkansas or NBA were his only two choices, there's no need to enter portal. You don't have to portal back from NBA evals.

No idea if Fland staying in college and coming home is a realistic possibility but you can be sure if that does happen it will be with signoff from Ian and team.

The key words: at 18 years old. Do you realize that Jonathan Kuminga is only 22 years old?. It seems like he played with Michael Jordan. That’s the point CRP tried to make with RJ. Don’t wait too long. Take your shot. You might get hurt, etc.
That’s why Boogie will not be a college basketball player next year.
Where was Kuminga drafted? What salary is slotted for where Kuminga was drafted?

19 years old, late first round or second round pick this year or 20 years old Top 15 pick next year. You can decide which is better for the player assuming he doesn’t get hurt.

I believe Fland will still only be 18 when the draft is held this year. There just seems to be a crazy wide view of where he'd land in the draft this year.

You are missing my point. Have you looked at any mock drafts at all?
I have. So what? Who’s doing the Mocks? Coaches? Staff? Of course not.
The way it works, I believe, is that teams will talk to players’ agents. The agents will ask: are you interested in my player? Will you draft him if he falls to you at the end of the first round? How about the second round? Then the agent goes back to the player, and a decision is made to perhaps return to a college, go overseas, sign as a UDFA with an NBA team, etc.
And this is done after the NBA evaluations.
CRP probably told RJ that even if he’s not drafted, sign as an UDFA with an NBA team.
CRP knows the game. Just saying.
Ps. I guarantee that Boogie’s agent knows that he will be drafted because he knows the game too He portaled as a disaster plan.
