Which makes no sense since he could have always gone back to Arkansas.
Arkansas has a five star PG and a four star SG coming in plus Wagner. While he still can go back, they have already moved on. It is the smart move in case it doesn’t work out during his meetings and workouts. You have until May 28th to withdraw from the draft and by that time teams will have full rosters.

I expected him to return to Arkansas but understand the business and having contingencies just in case.

"This action led many to believe he has a set destination in mind, likely his hometown team in St. John's, should he forgo the draft and play in the NCAA next season. Despite this rumor, many experts expect Fland to enter the draft, where he has been mocked solidly in the late-first or early-second round."

I subscribe to the notion SJU is positioned as well as possible w Boogie as one could hope. I believe he will end up in NBA on a team willing to take a shot based on his huge potential rather than where his game stands now. That said, between now and deadline to pull out of draft, a lot can happen. If he opts for college it seems crazy to think he would not consider playing here with a true title contender. In the meantime we’ll flesh out our roster, he’ll go through the NBA process and the chips will fall. To be in great position if stars and moon line up is reflective of how well the program is respected nationally.

Since he will cost big $$$$, is there a limit on our NIL budget? Can't be all on Repole's dime, can it?

Being the eternal pessimist, I wonder if stories like this make it more difficult for us to find our backup pg. If I were one of these mid-major kids looking for playing time, I’m not sure I’d commit if I knew there was a chance that we sign boogie and I become a benchwarmer.

Could I guess, but Rick can sell ice to eskimos. A kid w a potential second year like Darling also is a positive imo in terms of receptivity.

While there may be a limit to our budget , there is nothing to stop him from accepting money from Corporations while he is here. Nike has NIL deals with many college athletes. Chase may decide to use him in commercials. There are unlimited marketing opportunities available.
