2025 Portal

He is looking at 3 million at minimum if he comes back to college. That’s without the bidding war that might and will probably occur driving that price to 3.5, maybe 4 mil possibly. That’s a big check and wonder how many schools will/can go there at the end of May when most rosters are close to set.
When you have 99.9% of the pieces for a NC, then you do whatever it takes to get that last piece, he got Repoli, and he knows who Boogie is.
Everyone know Boogie if they follow college.

Whatever it takes to get him, you gotta do it and make it happen.

With the portal closed for new entrants , it looks like Lefty will stay .

Unless he opts to return to Greece .

The projected Line up doesn’t seem to be getting him any more minutes than this past season .

We have a lot of Shooters now and , that’s pretty much Lefty’s role .

Maybe Pitino has given him , not a guarantee but , defined a role for him this coming season?

As roster is now, I can see him getting 10-15 min/ game ( last year he averaged 4-5)

But if we get a good PG shifting a lot of Jackson min to SG, his minutes decrease fast.

There are all sorts of interesting scenarios to ponder , if Boogie opts out of draft after the Trials

While it might make sense for him to return to Arkansas , Cal already has his replacement in hand and , has a loaded incoming Class of newbies and portal guys .

Stuff , I have read is that with all the talent they have , Cal has his work cut out for himself to allocate Playing time for all his 4-5 stars .

I only saw Boogie in that 1 game as he came off the bench. I don’t follow HS ball in NYC but , consensus is that he’s the real deal and very talented . A little small for the NBA but , so was Iverson .

Since it’s been mentioned that he and Jackson are friends , did they ever play against each other ?

And , what was the result ?

Right. That’s my point - it isn’t NBA or Arkansas anymore. If it was, then he wouldn’t have entered the portal.
Makes sense for the kid to keep his options open. Otherwise, if he didn’t enter the portal and wanted to go back to college, he’d only be able to play for Arkansas. Arkansas would certainly take him back but he wouldn’t have any leverage and they could offer him less than he’d make from other schools as a “free agent.”

Same thing goes for the rest of the uncommitted draft entries (I.e. RJ, Watkins and Williams).

6'11...7/6... at L'Ville... thats a player looking for 25+ mpg...

With Zuby/Prey/Mitchell/BHop... thats 80 mins to split at the 4/5 positions... Have to think Zuby and BHop (once in shape) will take at least 60 of those 80...

We need an insurance policy under the hoop - would say a HS/Freshman transfer... potential International product for this very reduced role this year.
My greed has reached the point where I want this kid to be paid well to redshirt and get beat on by Zuby every day, and then it's one less drawn-out painful search for a key position next season.

that would be nice... but think you would need a Zuby-esque transfer for that... high major, low usage, transfer Big being recruited over... willing understudy...

I still would like to get involved with Che from Irvine that Moose said was unathletic. 32 wins in a better conference is more impressive to me than our current options and would trust to staff to help him cut down on the turnovers.

I enjoyed your post BrookJersey and appreciate your efforts to share all the information you had about Meeting Boogie’s father.
If one of our staff said they have zero interest I would think they know things that we don’t and some of the things might be negative or proof that this young man would not work out here.
Anyway after several decades of frustration and mediocrity 2000-20 I refuse to be anything but overjoyed with Rick Pitino, his staff, his recruits, his player development, his nudging the school toward better facilities and his connecting with MSG so we have a lot more games there.
What’s not to like? Especially in contrast to what we had to endure. Seems we are back in the hay-days of the 1980s and before when we were a desirable destination, top 5 in all time wins, and had talented players and enough to many Ws!
I like Ws lol

Errata SS&G not me, it was hattengoat who spoke to Boogie's dad and a member of our staff. Oh, I was trying to poke some fun with the agent % comment.
