2025 Portal

Kid was fast as hell
This guy JJ White from Omaha reminds me a lot of Daniss Jenkins! 6-2 quick point guard who took 4.4 threes per game for a 43.9 percentage. He looked good when we played Omaha. I would look to sign someone like this quickly as a backup PG with the idea that if the big names pass on us, he could possibly be a portal sleeper.

Personally, I would be shocked if Silas signs on with us. I don't trust portal guys who go on the national tour circuit, they are looking for the biggest payday. These guys were already wined and dined as HS seniors and should have an educated opinion after a few years in college as to a school or two that they want to talk to. I am not interested in another Cliff Omoruyi soap opera.

Yaxel only played two games against high majors (and both were two of the three first games of his collegiate careers) and the numbers aren't great. Numbers against Memphis were mediocre as well.

Not saying he isn't awesome but there's definitely a flip side to him.

Efton Reid entered portal but when I looked at his numbers, he's played four seasons with enough games to not be redshirt eligible.

Not sure what his plan is, but I hope he's not trying to be a test case.

I think he had to sit out a few games at the start of 23-24 season since it was his second transfer so he's arguing he gets the extra year of eligibility. Will be interesting to see how the NCAA/courts handle.
