2025-2026 Season

Sanon, Sellers, Mitchell, and Darling all very likely playing less minutes than last year. I bet Jackson does get more than he did at UNC but he also wasn’t transferring because of playing time.
This is always something I'm very curious to keep an eye on. Are kids going to be satisfied with the minutes they're given, based on their expectations? I recall last year early in the season, there were rumblings that not everyone was happy, and it was visible at times. As we all saw, things eventually worked themselves out.

Really feel the rotation will be 10 deep.

Zuby
Hopkins
Jackson
Sanon
Mitchell
Darling
Prey
Sellers
Odih
Ayo

Then Lefty and Tamba will play bit parts depending on opponents.

Don't see Imran, Casper or Fotis adding anything.
Couldn’t agree more with 10 man rotation. Not unusual for teams to go that deep with 10 minutes plus pt. Really think Lefty will only get spot minutes absent injury or Odih not being ready which seems unlikely.

If Tamba averages more than 0.2 ppg and 0.6 rpg I would be shocked.

I would rather stick Ayo or Odih on a center.

Of course if anyone has seen practice and can tell me I'm underselling Tamba I'll be thrilled.

Winning solves a lot of problems. If this team is ranked in the Top 10 all year and has a chance win a National Championship I think these kids will suck it up and do whatever it takes to win. It becomes a real problem if the team falters and kids think the team would be doing better if they got more time and other guys sat etc. It worked itself out last year because the team won and so eventually everyone bought in.

definitely way too early for Mean Gene to be glass half full

that's why Mean Gene always keeps it real

By bit parts I meant 5 good fouls against a pain in the ass big

The consensus of the posts I've read seem to say that Lefty will get "spot minutes" or will have a "bit part", etc. If this is accurate, who will be the back-up point guard?

I think there will be a lot of offense / defense substitutions at the end of close games. Mitchell in for D with Ayo and / or four guard rotation on offense. Really hard to have Mitchell at the line during a close game, but his defense and rebounding will be absolutely necessary in that same game.

Then who is the starting point guard? I thought I read that Jackson is not in the mix for playing point guard. If Dylan Darling gets into foul trouble, gets the flu and can't play, etc., who plays point guard?
CRP has spoken on this issue: in today’s game there are no longer true point guards.
ie Jalen Brunson
Now my humble opinion:
I completely expect Ian Jackson to start as a “lead guard “.
CRP expects a quick defensive rebound, then a quick outlet pass to the most open player (Zuby only if it’s a quick dunk or layup) then take the first open shot (preferably a 3).
Basket or a quick offensive rebound and then the first best shot.

Expect Dylan to play big situational minutes depending on the opponent, foul trouble, or the need to play a more controlled game (ie cut down on turnovers if they arise).
