2024/2025 Roster

This is why having kadary is so important. Yes we view him as a PG, but he's 6'6 and also factors in to our "forward/wing" depth with RJ, Scott, Brady, and Ayo
Playing him off the ball at the elbow, down low was productive v Xavier especially in the first half when
set tempo as RP said. I have been a critic, but use him well within context of his shooting limitations seems right path.

We really need Dunlap this year. I'm hoping for the best there. Ayo is a 10th-11th guy ideally, but he is so steady. He defends, he rotates exceptionally well for a guy who has so little playing time, and he can stick an open jumper while not turning it over. He also screens and moves more than most.

also the best thing Ayo brings is his Attitude... which cant be understated, real tough to teach.

(an no one take this as my campaigning for more Ayo minutes lol... he'er perfect in his 2-8mpg)

Prey

Next year's roster is crazy if we can keep it intact. This would be the first time we just need to retain guys and add complementary pieces.
Prey is so clearly going to be good...he has no weaknesses. He was staying with wings and keeping them honest last couple of games, and you can tell he just needs more experience to close that 1/4 step of lateness there. I think he will be a shooter. He's only 1-4 from deep, but they've all looked good. And that drive is lethal. Him and Lefty could do some good things together.

It's so hard not to look ahead when we've got a potential front court of Zuby-Prey-Maker-RJ-Dunlap.

If the 5th year thing happens, Aaron Scott is all of a sudden eligible for another year also... Plus, Smith may be eligible with that court ruling...

Next year can be insane since we can be looking at retaining everyone, and just replacing Kadary.

I think there is a very good chance we retain:

Zuby and Sim (seems like they and their families love being here and we love them back)

Prey and Lefty (Rick recruited them here, not really sure why they'd want to move homes again)

Maker (not going to get much playing time so I don't really see him finding a better combination of coaching and NIL)

Ayo obviously (i could see him transferring for playing time but unlikely IMO)

Brady (I thought he was someone who might transfer but now with the injury I don't see too many schools being interested and him and his dad definitely value learning under Pitino)

RJ is a wild card. Could test NBA and the portal. Will definitely be offered a ton of money. I would put it at 65/35 he stays but everyone above is more likely than that.

Scott and Smith would be icing on the cake if they are eligible next year and we retain them.

The Vegas tourney should help with money talks

Everyone’s on a one year contact. Roster construction never s given in today’s environment. Keeping our key guys and adding high priced free agents now a must.

I'm probably the biggest Kadary fan, but he's not the greatest fit and his lack of shooting this year means we can probably replace him rather easily if we retain RJ and Deivon. A complementary 3 and D that will hit the offensive glass is probably better for us.

His most value is his ability to drive and that has really be dragged down by the FT %. I could care less if he makes a single three, but I thought we were getting a kid who was money from the line.

Vegas tourney, and also think if we have a successful year, more donors see the potential here.

He should not shoot another 3 this season unless we are up by 20 with under 3 minutes to go in the game.
