glad this thread finally got going....
So if we were able to get to 17.5* wins with:
1. First year under CMA (new system, learning curve, etc...)
2. Player losses: Heron (half the year- perceived main offensive weapon to start the year), Roberts (couple games at the end- only "big"), McGriff (back-up PG? another able body), Steere (lets be real... most thought he would contribute something... he was inconsequential)
3. Not ignoring the fact that WV and Zona could have easily been losses, but we were in if not winning a lot of games with 5 mins left... think we had 5-7 losses by single digits..?
Believe CMA got the most he could of out of this group. They scrapped and gave everything they had (the Gtown away game being the anomaly). Feels like consensus on the board through the season was that most players we had are not the "Big East level talent" needed to compete.... so the fact we did compete every night, I found that impressive.
With CMA going deep in the bench every game (played Cole minutes at the end of the season) - we have to like our chances of getting to 20 wins this season.
I know some are torn on LJ (we will be better with him), but if he decides to come back, and we get a bigger body* (6'9 and can contribute) - def feel confident about this season.

Villanova , and Creighton aren’t just going to be Big East good next year , but there going to be national championship good . If/when LJ decides he’s gonna return, the collective optimism on this board is gonna skyrocket. I’m talking about Harrison’s junior year type stuff. If all we do from here till the season is not lose anyone else. people will want over .500 in BE play, 20+ wins and an NCAA tourney bid. Who knows, I might be one of them.
As I say every year, I strongly suggest we all take a deep breath and wait until October 15 or so before making bold proclamations about next season.
We have a long history of surprises. Already we have shed Steere and Sears. Is that the only kids leaving? What about LJ.? McGriff? We adding anyone else? Will Roberts be healthy? I have faith in our Coach. However, Uncertainty is the new normal for college basketball.

I have a lot of faith , but there is nothing wrong with gradually getting better we will still be maybe 2-3 years away from winning the big east. We can still finish with 20 wins next year
Duke that’s where you are wrong . Creighton will not be the same team we played . 6’11 Jacob Epperson will be back who was out the whole year this year . They have another 6’11 top 100 kid coming in , davon mintz who red shirted this year will be back too . Alexander might be the only started they lose , but I think he comes back.
Even if Villanova loses Bey , they will have everyone back most of the team will be seniors, and juniors. Bryan Antoine who barely played this year is a McDonald’s All American , and can take Beys place . They also have another top 100 kid Eric Dixon who red shirted this year . Archidiacono’s brother didn’t even play , and he’s a big guard with good bloodline.
