2019 NBA Finals

Tough one Jack. Mike Vaccaro says no in pretty good article in today's Post.https://nypost.com/2019/06/11/kevin-durants-injury-may-have-saved-the-knicks-future/

If KD has to sit a year, he will be 32 before he ever plays for Knicks. One thing I definitely agree with Vaccaro on is Knicks need to stick with their core group of young guys (including Barrett) and not trade them and/or future draft picks away for AD. I'd be ok with taking the risk on a max contract for Durant so long as their medical folks are satisfied he can come back as KD within 12 months. Mitchell Robinson was a home run they hit in last year's draft and I still think Knox will be a very good player; he is barely 20.

It might be in KD's best interest to opt in to the final year, collect his $31 million, get healthy, and come back later in the year. If he looks good, the contract will be there in 2020.

I disagree. If max offers are there, it’d be in his best interest to cash out now when you never know if you’ll be as good post injury.

KDs surgery and his doctors are in NYC. He should agree to a 4 year max deal with the Knicks and rehab the injury for a year. Let the Knicks play with all the young guys getting experience/minutes. They will probably be a bottom 5 team and get another solid draft pick. Then KD comes back the following year with a solid young supporting cast. Then you hope KD has 2-3 elite years left in him and get the Knicks to the promised land.

It’s a better plan than the Knicks just continuing to settle for below average. They took a shot with Carmelo but sacrificed their entire young core. This time you can sign a player who (when healthy) is better than Melo and you don’t have to sacrifice the young core to get him

Not sure if they even have a shot but he has a relative he stayed with in Jersey last year. I'm not an nba guy but he is by far my favorite player

Even though the game was over, and won the championship, Leonard wouldn't have been happy unless he got those 2 points at the end. lol

Those 2 points were needed and clinched the game. Have you seen Curry with shots from over half court? He practices them and hits some and comes very close on many others.

Only downside up here north of the border is knowing we've likely seen Leonard in a Raps jersey for the last time. He has been a pleasure to watch this season. Fingers crossed the Knicks can find a way...

Raptors deserved the championship. As a Warrior fan when they're not playing the Knicks, I was proud of how they fought to the end though very short-handed. Klay Thompson & Iggy were unbelievable last night, tough to see Thompson go down in the 3rd quarter. I'm sure he wanted to try to play, but no way team was going to let him after Durant re-injury. Just read they think he has a torn ACL in his knee, so no way he was coming back. Warriors should give him a max contract. Not more than a handful of better two way players in the league
Just a great game last night. Congrats to the Johnnie north of the border fans and Raptor fans in general.

Haven't been a big NBA fan for the last few years as 85 three pointers per game and the drama queen players have turned me off but I must say I enjoyed this extremely hard fought series where the players left their last drop of sweat and blood on the court. Reminded me of a Stanley Cup series.

Felt awful for Klay Thompson. the guy was having an incredible game. He shot almost 60%(24/41) from 3 in the series. if he doesn't get hurt it's a different ending imo.
