QUEENS, N.Y.  – The 2016 Red Storm Report, a weekly television series dedicated exclusively to the St. John’s men’s and women’s basketball teams, premiers on Fri., Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. on MSG+. Full episodes from the 10-week series are available through the StormTracker All-Access video player on RedStormSports.com after the original air dates with individual segments available on the St. John’s Red Storm YouTubechannel.

The Red Storm Report is a 30-minute magazine-style show produced by the St. John’s Television Network (SJU-TV). Veteran announcer Brandon Tierney serves as the host and joins head coach Chris Mullin for weekly insights and feature stories about the Red Storm. Each week the Red Storm Report goes “One-on-One with Coach Mullin”, which is complemented by behind-the-scenes segments, top plays, “Digital Shorts,” “Mullin Moments” and a new “SJUBB in the NBA” weekly feature.

St. John’s fans also get the chance to go “Inside St. John’s Women’s Basketball,” with a segment dedicated to head coach Joe Tartamella’s program. Red Storm men’s and women’s basketball student-athletes and coaches will be featured on the Red Storm Report each week.

The Red Storm Report is sponsored by UPS, Sunrise Chevrolet of Forest Hills and Ridgewood Savings Bank.

Darn, sounds like Lavin won't be on anymore. Looking forward to segment where they show St. John's visit to the soup kitchen, and the training staff working with the players, which they show every year. It's like watching March of the Wooden Soldiers on Thanksgiving or It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas.

Whatever money that is spent on this show should be used in about 100 other better places

In the early days under Jarvis, he use to do a radio show (forgot who the co-host was) from Mickey Mantle's. I worked at Columbus Circle at the time so I use to met up with a friend and we go there for the show from time to time. That show wasn't bad. They talked SJU Hoops and other things happening around college basketball. It was 100 times better than the Red Storm report which is worst than similar shows on other college sport programs I have seen.

Not the Maven, but the "A-Maz-In" (as in The Amazing Mazer).

Regarding Owens ,we re only looking at him to be a back up to Sima, not be all BE . Tall and good athlete, another year under his belt to learn and get stronger. I'll take it.

They do a feature on Mullin and show a picture of his brother Terrence instead of Chris.
Can't make this shit up.
be happy they didn't spell it Mullen :)

That is certainly how I am looking at him and I hope others see it the same way. He is a very athletic 6 10 who apparently can do everything reasonably well. I am looking at him giving us a good 15-20 minutes a game at the 4 and 5 next season , perhaps less if AA and CJ are around and continue to develop. Not all BE but a key reserve and part of the puzzle. Four years of good coaching and competition in practice and he could turn out better than expected.

Totally agree. Expectations of more than a project who is a building block are unrealistic

I don't think he is a project. His offense is pretty good for his size.

You gotta remember though that in the red white scrimmage basically he is playing against half a team that hasnt won a big east game yet and could end up with our worst record ever.

That's not to say anything bad about him at all. It's just keeping things in perspective

I just recall that his numbers at Tenn State were not very good, albeit as a freshman. Some have been saying that CJ and Amar will be stuck to the bench next year because Owens will take their minutes, so I figured I'd ask, if he is a backup 5, I have no problem with it.
