Can someone spin off the coaches discussion from the LIU thread into a live thread. I have a few responses I would like to add.

I disagree, if they would have just paid, none of this would have ever came out and Jarvis definitely was in favor of paying for things. Heck he paid a crappy guy, definitely would have advised them to pay for a train if still the coach. If Jarvis was still around Pitt thing never happens then no Norm or Geno. McKillop eventually replaces Jarvis….

I will say the one point I would follow up on with Larry Dubs is saying the 98 team lost its two best players, implying somehow jarvis had to pick up pieces. i mean i guess technically felipe and Z were best players on prior team, but he was literally left with second best player in program history (in my view) in artest and just amazing complementary pieces. Such a good, ready made team. what did he teach them to do the weave?

It happened under Kevin Clark’s watch. There was no curfew as there also was not one evidently under Jarvis. If there was one, maybe the incident never happens.

Regardless, this is all like the old Woody the Woodpecker cartoon episode, “If Woody had gone to the police, this would never had happened!”
