If I was a betting man, I might take Niagara to cover in the 1st half. I could see the johnnies really struggling to get up for a 2:00pm game vs Niagara after the high of the last 2 nights We will still win by 15 or 20 but the championship hangover will hit us early in this game.

Niagara beat a Stetson team that beat Fla St and USF... two programs that are underwhelming to start the year...but this has "Trap game" written on it...

If we see similar effort on the Defensive end, the next two games shouldn't be close.

How can it be a trap game when the next game is against LIU? ;):)
Part of a trap game is looking ahead to your next opponent. Maybe a let down game if anything and Niagara is usually very up for their games against us being our sister school.

ummm... do you forget 2016...? LIU is a payback game! lol

that's a preseason ranking. They can now be thrown out the door as far as I am concerned
IMO Any Division 1 team can beat any other Division 1 Team on a given night. Rankings are a good indication how good a team is but at the end of the day to play college bball at Division 1 level you have to be a great player. When these so called lowly ranked teams play us they are coming at us with a vengeance, similair to how SJU would play against a Duke.

Yea you know what, you’re right, it is pretty funny citing one sports illustrated article from before the season and thinking you have everything all figured out.
One sports article??? It’s not just the one I posted it’s the general consensus. Figured out? If I had things figured out I would email the BOD to ask them why Mr. Cragg continues to put forth an OOC schedule continues to be as weak as it has been and stifles the teams chance to make a post season tourney. I think that most people with a minimal IQ can figure out why that is.

Listen, if you want to argue with me in support of the merits of scheduling the Niagara’s and LIUs of the world, I welcome the discussion. But to take pot shots at me to make your point just makes what ever points you think you are making weak and makes you look foolish. I get that you’re young but civility is always a better course to take.

I just think it’s weak that last night and this morning you’re in here trying to pour cold water on everyone’s excitement right after we beat a rival that we all have hated for a long time.

And for the record we have TWENTY (20) big East games plus a conference tournament. If we keep winning these OOC games, it’s poor performance in big East play that’ll keep us out of the postseason not our ooc.

If your argument is that the OOC is weak and we aren’t challenging ourselves enough and won’t be prepared for conference play… well we just played two very close games the last two nights on a neutral court and had to navigate how to win close games.

Yea we made mistakes and it wasn’t always pretty but I just don’t understand the constant negativity honestly. We have a TRUE road game against Iowa St coming up that will help prepare us for true road atmospheres.

Every power 5 team has Niagara’s and LIUs on their schedule. It’s not the end of the world to me.
