Around the Big East 25-26

Now the refs don’t review a ball that was off USC on replay. What’s going on? Why wouldn’t the refs looks at that with 12 seconds left in a ball game? Do refs not review things anymore unless something is challenged?
No longer in the rules for that type of review unless it is challenged.

My thing is, much like football, if a game is close in the last two minutes. The refs should take a look at stuff like out of bounds calls that are close. The one tonight with 12 seconds left was as close as it gets, ONE simple look at a replay though showed it was clearly off usc.

I haven’t been this angry about a game that didn’t involve my team for awhile. 3-4 calls go against seton hall in the final minute, all extremely questionable. And the FT disparity is a whole other conversation

I understand there’s been complaints about refs taking too long to review things and it ruining the flow late in games, but there’s gotta be a middle ground where maybe they make the reviews quicker instead of getting rid of the refs ability to go take a look at things altogether.
I like the new rule but it does need some tweaks. How many games and how many times did we see the refs do reviews over the last few years especially when the original call was the right one. The refs began to use it like a crutch that was more of a detriment than an enhancement.

In the future, if your challenged is successful, then you should retain it.

Massive day for the big east

UConn with a neutral site home game at MSG vs #13 Fighting Illini.

Marquette a slight dog vs Oklahoma in Chicago

Provide a double digit dog vs #10 (for now) Florida

Gtown a 5 point dog in a neutral site away game versus the U

DePaul a slight favorite in a neutral site away game vs GTech

Also

X will try to eek out a win at home vs The Islanders of Texas A&M at Corpus Christi (the pride of the southland conference)

Butler at home with a buy game against Wright State

After tonight everyone will be +/- 70% done with their non-conference schedule. What do you think the updated Big East Rankings will/should be?

They're way too talented to be 4-3.
Watched them a lot so far and agree, lot of talent, but for sake of playing at a fast pace, Kim has them blindly running all over the place. They coughed ball up all day for easy buckets v a less than fleet (with one guard exception in Boyd) Wisconsin. Their absence of any semblance of a half court offense is negligence. The nasty PC fans will get ruptured vocal cords screaming at him I suspect.

UConn integrates talented prep players, portal adds with solid veterans as good as any program in country. I prefer that model to extremes like portal disdaining M’Q at one end of spectrum and teams like SJU who, net of Zuby, had to totally reload.
I hate saying this but they're basically the ideal model. A lot of retention, even if some are disappointments, because you try to develop. Get a starter or two from the portal, still recruit in that top 20-40 range. I'd only say that they don't do as much internationally as a college team should.

UConn could realistically score 125 on us in our current state
And they'll get better. They're missing their McDonalds All-American who was expected to start (Mullins), and they also generally get better. Its just depressing .

Mullins playing.

Malachi Smith with his junkyard dog attitude is perfect add for UConn and ditto for Demary.

Hate to say it, but after winning back to back championships, they stumbled a bit last year w decline in their defense. Clearly now they have remedied that and have great guard and interior play. Imo, they are a real Final 4 contender.

If it makes anyone feel better, I don't think we were ever getting Malachi Smith.

Lifelong UConn fan. Winning pays dividends down the road...

Reibe is a sleeper choice for, unexpected guy to destroy us this year. His size will be tough for Zuby. He's already better than Samson Johnson.

It is funny we were ahead of them preseason.
