Auburn, Wed., Nov. 26, 8:00p, TruTV / 880 AM

Happy to be playing Auburn. Seeing a lot of backlash online to the scheduling for the third games, though. Doubt the players era runs back this same format next year. Feel like we should be playing Houston. But I’m fine with Auburn even if they probably won’t be the same level of team this year without Bruce.

Iowa St went 2-0 and they’re playing Syracuse. Sheesh.
Next year is 32 teams, spread out over 8 (!) days. Wife already said we’re not making a return trip. (We’re in it the next two years).

If it is 32 teams they should just do a bracket. I mean it probably would be insane with the consolation games and stuff. But this is america, this is college basketball. give us brackets. We like brackets

"The event has expanded from eight teams last year to 18 this year, and the plan is to expand to 32 teams in a three-week format next year. Seth Berger, the CEO and founder of the Players Era, told ESPN there will be four eight-team groups. Two of the groups will play three games during the first week, while the other two groups will play three games during the second week. The four group winners will return for the third week and play one more game, either the championship game or third-place game."

"According to sources, the Players Era aims to become an NCAA tournament-like event in November that will feature the best teams in college basketball. That ambition could include a new format and games that take place outside Las Vegas in the future. Its changes have already impacted other Feast Week events because of its rapid growth and payouts. Expansion in the years ahead will limit the number of available elite teams for other events within the sport as the Players Era event moves forward."

This really is heaven for anyone who likes a bracket style tourney with the winner being determined all within a few days. And we get to watch our favorite team play 3 days in a row. Gravy.

and Chris Morris we were never in that game. Had my plane ticket for the Regional I believe it was in Houston.

Wow, haven't heard that name in a minute. I used to go to several Nets games growing up when they played at Brendan Byrne arena (meadowlands) with only a few thousand fans there and got to meet Chris Morris a few times. Super nice guy.

Thinking about these early games, including the exhibition against Michigan, and upcoming out of conference games we have against P5 opponents. When was the last time we played such a challenging out of conference schedule? This seems to be by far the toughest in my years following the team.

That Auburn game showed that Berry lacked the size and strength to play inside vs top competition or certainly the pros and although the player of the year in college he fell to fourteenth in the draft. Walter had great moves around the basket and a great touch from up close but no outside shot.
Looie promised to play him more outside if he returned to SJU where he might develop an outside shot but Walter took the bucks. I don’t think he would have been able to develop an outside game but he had a great career at SJU. His problem was he stopped growing in his early teens.

Like to see:
1. The real Zuby please stand up. So far looks like Kyle Cuffe.
2. Zuby, Mitchell and Hopkins combine for 21 rebounds. Should be that way every game.
3. Jackson play minutes comparative not only to his potential but how he has performed. At this point it is getting ridiculous.
4. More Mitchell / Sellers sharing initiating the offense.
5. Darling either putting arc on his three or giving up on that shot all together.
6 win so we stay ranked.

If we win tonight, I think we fall no lower than to #15 in the country based on where ISU was ranked and losing in such close fashion.

If we lose it's possible we'll still be ranked, but honestly I wouldn't want to be. We'd be 4-3 with only one notable win.

I agree that if we win we'll probably stay at about the same spot, maybe a slight increase.
