Bad week for the conference, but fortunately just the first week. Creighton likely needs to win @ #19 Gonzaga tomorrow (or at least keep it very close) to remain ranked. UConn with a big opportunity vs. #7 BYU Saturday night.

If I had to choose between the two polls I choose the coaches because the writers are a bunch of shit stirrers with a pen/keyboard.

But then again coaches aren't watching ALL the games and they can carry a bias too.

Always nice to have a number next to our name. Just gotta build it back up.

A lot of coaches assign some lackey in the athletic department to vote for them.

I’m always partial to the coaches poll as well.
However the outlets always refer to the AP ranking, except for when ESPN sponsored the coaches poll a few years back.
 
Pre-season and even early season rankings are a lot like fish, some smell right, others smell wrong, and the actuality is somewhere to be found in the middle.
 
I haven't looked at the other AP Top 25 results much this week, but appears 3 teams ahead of us lost and 3 teams behind us won. CBS thinks we'll be #13 again, but I guess anywhere from #10 to 16 is possible (with #12-14 being most likely):

We better beat Baylor and Iowa St., only loss I can accept is against Houston in a close loss.

If we're a top team then we'll get W's vs. good teams. If we aren't then we lose.
