Knicks

Knicks up 15 on Opening Night vs Cavs.

One concern was 2nd unit offense with Hukporti/Jemison/ Yabusele scoring 0 points combined in 21 minutes combined. Knicks lead went from 15 to 1. Put starters back and up went the lead. Kolek gave them some decent minutes.

Brown certainly different than Thibs. Everyone played some minutes. Good or Bad.
 
Horrible defense in the 3rd quarter. They have no lock down players. KAT with 2 early fouls yet again.

Nice win over a good team.

Very weird seeing bench players not named Deuce getting some meaningful minutes.
 
Still salty about the Thibs thing and not sold on Brown's approach ultimately being any more successful/productive. BUT happy to see my guy Huckporti get the start, I thought he should get more PT last season, he has potential as a mobile, defense-minded big. And I have no argument that one glaring flaw in last year's offensive approach was not enough O.G.

Gonna be awesome hearing all season long "this guy plays the bench" given that he actually has a, you know, bench.

While I agree that they did Thibs dirty and then improved their bench immediately after, I also watched Kolek have meaningful second half minutes the other night. I highly doubt that ever happens under Thibs. I feel it will prove that there is some truth to the idea that some of our end of bench guys will get more of a look this year

100% - Kolek & Landry Shamet (who only got time in playoffs due to attrition).I also think Bridges will play much better under Brown's faster pace.
 
Josh Hart with 14 rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench. Will take him a while to get any kind of shooting stroke with finger injury but man is it good to have him back. If Robinson can stay healthy, these guys are going to be fun to watch.
 
Maybe Tom didn't have a choice but to play the starters that much, but bence is garbage.
Thought Clarkson was good? Well he's garbage as a Knick.
First post on the knicks this year, and won't be posting a whole lot this year about them, don't want upset the ultimate knick fan on here.

I'll just say thank God SJU & coll bball starts next week.
 
Knicks bench problem may or may not be a season long problem. Mitch now hopefully back which puts McBride and Hart as our top bench guys. Josh is clearly not himself due to two different injuries hopefully that will change soon. Shamet will be fine as 8th or 9th man but so far Clarkson and the guy they got from Philly have underperformed. I think Clarksonis better than he has shown in first 5 games unsure about the other guy.
I still believe Kolek can be a solid 10 mpg backup for Jalen.
 
Also btw, would never say that any players on my favorite team (be it Knicks or Johnnies) are garbage or suck. But that's just me - to each his own.

And if Mitch can ever stay healthy we will have a good four man bench of Josh, McBride, Clarkson & Shamet.
