The Rushmore Paradigm

Recently I’ve gotten really sick of the “Rushmore” discussions. Who belongs on it for a sport, etc. but then I saw a video online of Jimmy Iovine, and other famous music producers talking about their mt Rushmore of popular music last few generations.

They came up with the Beatles, the Hendrix Experience, James Brown and his Band, and the Stones.

The criteria was “impact and influence “

I can’t believe they left off Brian Wilson’s Beach Boys. But hey, if anyone reads this, what do you think???

I guess you will not be participating in my keenly planned “Rushmore of Rushmore” thread? 😉😁

Consider that even in the actual Mount Rushmore, if the 4 weren't literally set in stone, there would be much debate over who belongs and who doesn't.

Sports is an art really, but in fine art there is less debate over who was the greatest. With St Johns, the sports program I'm most passionate about, I'm in a better place when I don't compare our great players to each other, and simply enjoy what each/all of them have contributed.
