Ayo and Lefty are actual big east players thoughEvery coach wants a guy who will run through the wall for them and help reinforce the culture they want. If the guy can play some, that's even better.

Sean Conway < Ayo < Lefty
Same purpose, higher level of the continuum IMO
I bet it was more supposed to mean that Pitino believes in Lefty more than anyone else believes in Lefty. Not Pitino believes in Lefty more than he believes in everybody else.
Don’t forget that Lefty played big important minutes in Providence vs. Arkansas. He also played with confidence and without fear. He defended well, and passed well. His shot just didn’t fall.not sure how much I buy rick being highest on lefty but I do love lefty's attitude and hope he's a 4 year guy
I like both Ayo and Lefty but see them being 10th and 11th men respectively which is a very good thing for us.Don’t forget that Lefty played big important minutes in Providence vs. Arkansas. I think he will play well and certainly get opportunities.
Nothing like AI poser metal to get the season hype train going
This hit me as one of those random thoughts on my last road trip.... Prey better be ready for a WORKLOAD this year... He IS the lone contingency to a Zuby foul trouble/injury... He IS the Depth... lol..Prey may have actually made the team, missed the first few weeks of practices, and then that would bring injury risk -- not to mention him as a very important big man in the rotation for the season because of the limited depth...
In terms of on paper skill... I agree...I like both Ayo and Lefty but see them being 10th and 11th men respectively which is a very good thing for us.
Somto was a very random rumor. This hit me as one of those random thoughts on my last road trip.... Prey better be ready for a WORKLOAD this year... He IS the lone contingency to a Zuby foul trouble/injury... He IS the Depth... lol
I forget if the Staff targeted another Big that could contribute... but think it speaks volumes re: their confidence in Prey that they didnt bring in another contributor (sorry Tamba) after losing Vince...
IMO you will see Mitchell as a small-ball 5 when Zuby is off the floor more than you think. But agree Prey should get significant time there this year if his play merits it.This hit me as one of those random thoughts on my last road trip.... Prey better be ready for a WORKLOAD this year... we might* be able to get away with Mitchell at the 5 against some teams... but vs good Comp... Arkansas type comp... we're looking at Iron Man Zuby 35+minsIMO you will see Mitchell as a small-ball 5 when Zuby is off the floor more than you think. Staff was caught by surprise on the Vince move and unfortunately there wasn’t a lot left out there at that position but I’m sure they tried. It was also unfortunate that Maker didn’t show enough for them to even attempt to keep him (they had no intention on redshirting him last year and I believe by playing that one game he burned his redshirt season since they did not pass the rule like football whereby a player could play in a limited amount of games and maintain that year’s eligibility. Brady was different as he did not play after the 10th game and was ruled out injured and was allowed a redshirt. Maker was never injured and I believe the one game he played in was after the 10th game). This hit me as one of those random thoughts on my last road trip.... If it wasn’t for the incessant praise of Odih from Pitino, I’d be right there with you. Don’t think him and Ayo can both have a role that’s more than scraps this season. In terms of on paper skill... I agree...
But I'm on the "Ayo plays 10-15mins/game" this year train... I think he showed a lot at the end of last season... he's a guy that knows his role and contributes efficiently...
Senior- Pitino loves him... i see more playing time than expected for Ayo
If they had no intention of redshirting Maker the fact they played him in one lousy game for a few minutes means they did the kid a tremendous disservice at least IMO. Why burn a year of the kids eligibility for a couple of minutes PT?Staff was caught by surprise on the Vince move and unfortunately there wasn’t a lot left out there at that position but I’m sure they tried. I don’t disagree but that’s what happened. If they had no intention of redshirting Maker the fact they played him in one lousy game for a few minutes means they did the kid a tremendous disservice at least IMO. Why burn a year of the kids eligibility for a couple of minutes PT?
They did it against DePaul and then he transferred there—seems like there’s something more to it unless it’s just a crazy councidenceIf they had no intention of redshirting Maker the fact they played him in one lousy game for a few minutes means they did the kid a tremendous disservice at least IMO. Wasn’t questioning your inside knowledge on the subject just giving my opinion on the matter which is that it made no sense and was not smart nor an unselfish decision.I don’t disagree but that’s what happened.
