I thought Wright was good in studio and as color, and he would’ve probably been the main guy for Big East on TNT. Not sure who has his combo of skill and resume.
Agree he’s very good in studio. I just don’t think anyone watches a game to watch a studio analyst and heck Lavin will probably be back in studio in a year and he’s better than Jay IMO
And at the rate we are going we might have Amase and Cole in the studio at half and that I’ll definitely tune in to see what they are drinking ( aside from them being awesome guys )
Love Lav but don’t think he’s better than Jay and just doesn’t have the Big East/NCAA cred that Jay does. But not a game changer imho.

I have a differing opinion. I always found him pretty bland in studio. Didn't seem to have much enthusiasm, kind of was just there. Never really felt like he added much. Obviously an absolute legend and gentleman, but didn't feel it was a good fit.
I think him being as classy as he is hurt him from settling in in that role TBH
Pretty much nailed my thoughts. Just don't find him charismatic in the studio. I kinda felt like he was there because he needed something to do after coaching and that would be the natural move for a legendary coach

Wright brought cache and his presence would've elevated the broadcast/Big East brand. I'm not saying its some huge deal, but it does hurt. I do think he gets a little too nice and doesn't really criticize, but he does analyze the game very well.
I actually really like the job Roy Hibbert does for CBS. I hope TNT gets him aboard. He is someone you can tell actually does his homework and watches the games.

Agree with this take. I just have so much admiration for Wright for the way he ran the Nova program from the type of players he recruited to the way most of them improved under his tutelage and to the class he always showed that I am probably an easy marker judging his announcing. Kind of like expecting me to be objective when it comes to Justin Simon or Aaron Scott lol.
You need one stop against a great wing scorer..Simon or Scott getting the assignment?
Recency bias would favor Scott but I'd have to go with Justin. I remember him completely shutting down Markus Howard (although he was not a wing) and also doing a phenomenal job on Myles Powell (also not a wing). The thing is we were a much better defensive team with Scott last year and he was also a great switch defender but Justin was DPOY in the league. Tough call, but I'd feel very good with either option.

Don’t disagree with your 3 picks LFM although that was not question I was answering. I would probably have Scott in my top five or 6 going back to the Artest class. Another great defender was Lavor Postell.
