New York Mets 2025 Season

I am surprised Cohen hasn’t decided to fire Mendoza, he makes Boone look like Whitey Herzog. No more of this bullshit pitch lab. Stearns shopping at the Dollar Tree. We got pussy arms can’t even throw a decent 6 f$$king innings. The team has intestinal fortitude of Nathan Lanes assh$$e! Weak team, 253 home runs by Alonso the team is going be home fu$king Syosset in October!

Soto swings at 2 straight balls on a 3-2 count. Think that is where I shut this one off. God bless those of you who stick this one out. Maybe gman will catch the end

What could Mendy have done differently here? Peterson was shot. Garrett crapped the bed.

I have to admit something to you guys, and it isn't easy to say this

When the Mets went up 6-0 last night, I turned to my fiancée and actually said "I love when the Mets win, but it is boring to watch when it is a blowout". I don't know what I was thinking honestly.

I took our dog for a walk right after, and by the time I walked back inside, I got to see Michael Harris put one over the center field wall to make it 9-6

I'll take the blame for last night. I apologize to all of you

Alonso with a running start from second can’t score on a base hit?

While I appreciate and respect you assuming accountability for last night’s debacle, let’s face it, the Mets have been pulling this type of nonsense before either of us was born. I view many games as “expectation vs disappointment”. Up 6-0 is a perfect example of this scenario, there’s only one potential change in direction, and it’s down. You did the right thing taking the dog out for a walk - good for your physical health, great for your mental health.

I tend to be a pessimist when it comes to the teams i support but let me say something I’m sure will not be universally lauded in this thread…can this team (and especially its social media team) stop going bananas over the Alonso HR thing? Is that too much to ask? You’re in the middle of one of the worst stretches this team has had in a few years and everyone is blowing a gasket over a number that is actually rather pedestrian for a franchise that’s been around this long. Like, I got it at the time, it’s a club record, and even because they won that game but enough is enough, let’s get down to business and stop celebrating when you’ve won like 2 games in what feels like 2 months. And, what are you so happy about? I’d be too pissed off to celebrate this much in the first place.

And, set your watch to this. Peterson will pitch 7 innings next time out and we’ll lose 2-1. I’d bet my life on it.

I'm not really someone who has "favorite players" or is into individual records, so I agree. Team success, or laundry as Seinfeld would say, is paramount to me. I find the other stuff pretty meh/boring, unless its truly eye-popping (e.g. the DeGrom stuff was truly incredible). I give Pete credit for continuing to talk about how wins is all that matters.

The only thing I find more annoying than the Mets/SNY stuff is all of the media-ready articles and tweets saying "PAY THE MAN" afterwards. Why would this have anything to do with the other stuff? Is anyone really excited about having Nimmo for the next five years because of loyalty? give me a break.

I am ok with acknowledging and celebrating personal accomplishments along the way. Nothing over the top. For years the Mets ignored some of their own history. We know the stories.

Maybe some of the “celebrating” is some sensitivity to prior fan criticism. Fans wanted more Mets in Mets. All that being said in the past this has been an organization that has lacked a sense of urgency. Don’t think that’s the issue this year.

Would be nice if someone around the team showed a little anger or frustration around the absolute suckitude that we’ve seen on the field for over two months. Where or who are the alleged “leaders” ?
