Heading to NY next week and planning to take my son to Mets/Angels 1pm game. Never been to citi field. If anyone knows where there might be shade during that game I’d appreciate a heads up. Thanks in advance

Middle level (Excelsior) is covered and in shade the entire game.

excelsior has most shade of the 3 levels, but can be direct sun, especially front rows.
In mid afternoon,3rd base side excelsior level complete shade,
but 1st base side will be in some sun

True, apologies, I only buy from about row six and back so no chance of rain or sun. Didn’t consider the first few rows, thanks.

Plus Excelsior are excellent seats in general. I much rather prefer sitting there even for night games

depending on the kids ages- there is a whiffle ball/pitching/batting cage all behind center

Had to postpone my trip (summer covid of all things) but made it to citi field yesterday with my family. Great time had by all despite the Mets being one hit.
