Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Well they (and I as I was also at the game) got to see a Yankee win which are rare and hard to come by lately.
I was there too, tonight.

Took my girlfriend to her second ever game. #1 was last month. She's 2-0 (I'm actually 8-2 this year).

I'm fearful of how she'll react to St. John's basketball. Regular season baseball is easily controllable, in terms of my emotional state. SJU hoopscis a whole different matter.

When I first moved in with my now fiancée, St. john's was playing Nova in the BET a couple years back. It was Champagnie's last game where he airballed the dagger corner 3, and then Nova hit free throws with 1 second left to win.

I still remember silently staring at the TV, distraught, and hearing her go "what do I do?" she wanted to help. I just told her not to talk to me LOL

I am happy to say I have at least matured a little when it comes to handling losses since then. That was one of the first times I realized my reaction to an SJU loss was negatively impacting those around me. Growing up, I didn't have that, cause my Dad was always just as pissed as me 😂

If you two can make it through that one I’m sure your marriage will last

I'm not familiar with that kind of response....I usually get "grow up" or "awww did your little basketball team lose."

When I go to the games, she checks the score so she can "prepare herself" for the mood I will be in.
