NBA Draft 2025

Parrish is not wrong. But the kid made up his mind and that's his prerogative.

This will be in the minority opinion here, but I have little loyalty to RJ or many of these guys, in this day and age. He is a semi-pro gunslinger for hire, who at times can be very good. Some have overestimated the player he is. In an historical perspective, he is not on par with Chris, or Ron, or Walter, or a bunch of other of our great past Redmen. He had an all star/all league year. Yup, he did. In reality, he is probably somewhere between that guy and the guy we saw the year before. That in between guy is not an NBA player, or certainly needs a lot of work to be one. His decision making, shot selection and making and other aspects of his game are lacking. He is a tremendous athletes, but there is no shortage of those in the league. He benefitted greatly from his surrounding cast last year, and from the fact that he was not hampered by nagging injury. BUT, in the last game, he reverted to "bad RJ". Scouts and teams see that. Maybe some think it is not worth the investment. It is a business.

I hope the best for him, but as I have said elsewhere, we have seen this movie before. I hope it is the one with the happy ending not the one ending in disappointment.

I just don't see the need to canonize him, or make it sound as if he is being highly undervalued.

Good sign for RJ getting drafted if he's in this mock, considering the guy called his decision to remain in a wild decision. He does do his mocks with sources from NBA people.

Also saw him in this one recently:
While mock draft simulators are fun but not always accurate I have run a few recently while sitting around bored and RJ has been going a lot within the first 10 picks of the 2nd round.

I've even seen Kadary going towards the end of the 2nd.

Quite a few international players have opted out the last few days so maybe just maybe.

If Knicks have a choice between Dixon
and RJ, RJ the far better choice. However couldn’t questioning them taking Broome if he is available then
I just can't see Dixon in the NBA. He can shoot but I don't know who he defends, and he won't be able to score in the paint.

If I were the Knicks I would probably take RJ over Broome. As their roster is constructed, unless you are moving one of your top-7 players you need a difference maker on the bench. It may not work out but I would take a swing at RJ and see if you get the upside on that. Broome is a higher floor player but a lower ceiling one.

I would take RJ over Broome in a NY minute . I’m not a Broome fan for the NBA .
To me he’s poorly conditioned , with a limited offensive game . I don’t see him making a impact in the league . He fouls a lot too .
Think Pearl got the most out of him at Auburn and that’s it .
As for RJ , I don’t apologize for being a unabashed fan . I do agree it’s unfair to compare him to Chris or The Truth but , who
Is doing that ? Those 2 are in the Immortal class .
We do have to give him credit for the year he had and the BE Coaches did exactly that . Seemingly they valued him more than some of our posters . Posters are Amateurs , Coaches professionals.

Remind me again how many NBA games you've watched?

My post is more about the Knicks than it is about RJ. Broome will be a low end solid-if unspectacular player, probably. RJ might surprise but he also may never make it past the G league.

For the Knicks it's a question of what they need - in their case they may as well roll the dice and see if they can catch the upside because of their bench limitations.

Interesting. Kadary is a guy well I think while it’s great that they get drafted but like most second round picks in my mind I’d rather go undrafted and pick my best situation. But that’s just me

Did your agent inform all the NBA teams that you preferred not to be drafted. 😉🤪

I watch as few NBA games as possible . I watched more than enough of Pacers - Knicks and came away with the idea that it wasn’t a good game plan to have Brunson control the ball for 18 of the 24 seconds .
Sure , he’s a good player but , I preferred watching him at Nova , rather than Knicks

Haven’t watched a second of the Thunder - Pacers .
I would rather watch Caitlin Clark and the WNBA than the NBA .
Although they let too many fouls against her go uncalled .

Anyway , you like Broome as a player .I don’t , it’s not something to spend much time on

. It’s just our opinions .

Meanwhile in Hockey , the Stanley Cup may go tonight .. Go Panthers .

Interesting tidbits in here
"according to his camp, he received starting offers in the $3 million to $4 million range to play for Kansas, Arkansas, North Carolina, Indiana, and other top programs."

Think RJ's camp is doing some serious spinning here about his price tag. If RJ was offered $3-4 million to stay in college, then we must be paying Ian Jackson that much - after all, Jackson was consistently ranked higher than Luis as a transfer prospect. And I don't think we're paying Jackson anywhere close to that.
