Around the Big East 25-26

LMF chimes in on Shaka in ten seconds 😇

This is what the schools are supposedly paying them directly. Doesn’t include portions that might be paid as part of their deal from sneaker companies and other interest that get rolled up into their salaries.

UConn scored another with awesome matchup with Kansas... super sexy looking sched they got... be ashamed if they lost their Coach...lol

Anyway... think ours could match theirs depending on the Vegas matchups...
UConn: BYU / Zona / Illinois / Kansas / Florida / Texas.... (actually now that i typed that... man... thats a freakin load....)
SJU: Bama / Ole Miss / Kentucky / Vegas... Houston ! Auburn ! Kansas! ... COuld top theirs...

Great job by both of us scheduling...

Based on torvik's preseason rankings:

UConn schedule:
BYU - 6
Arizona - 14
Illlinois - 9
Florida - 5
Kansas - 16
Texas - 34

Our schedule:
Alabama - 19
Ole Miss - 44
Kentucky - 13
Iowa State (?) - 21
Baylor - 33

Plus our cupcakes: Iona - 150, Harvard 155, Quinnipiac - 207.

I like the floor of those teams, but UConn's is far and away better.

Far and away tougher. Not sure that always equates to better

Similar commentary from Rothstein who said no one is catching us and Uconn, and both of us will win a minimum of 16 games. Also doesn't think anyone else is a lock for the tournament outside of us two, but Creighton and Marquette deserve benefit of the doubt.
This is one of those things where people who follow the league closely and national reporters diverge and it's always interesting to see how it plays out.

I don't think that Marquette will be in the same hemisphere as Creighton, the Blue Jays are head and shoulders the third team in the conference, IMO.

Where it gets interesting is "who is fourth?" I think Nova may sneak into that spot when all is said and done but it will be a big gap from Conn/SJU and then Creighton down to that spot.

But that's why they play the games!

There almost always is a surprise team in the league each year, so it will be interesting to see who that may be...
